You can document "on the fly medications" administered for an eye injection procedure.
Before you begin
You must configure the permission to add medications on the fly, for your user group in the
Medication & Billing Configuration system template.
- Open the MICS MedAdmin OPH template, and then do one of the following:
- To document the right-eye-injection procedure, expand the OD Injection panel.
- To document the left-eye-injection procedure, expand the OS Injection panel.
- Select the Procedure Type as Injection.
- Select the Add Med on the Fly link.
The
MLTS MedConfig Add PU window opens.
- Select the sub-location, if turned on.
- Select if the medication is billable or non-billable.
- From the Source field, select the source of medication.
The Med Config: Drug Names picklist opens.
- Select a medication from the Drug Name field.
The MLTS LotTrack Manuf Drug PL picklist opens.
- Select the manufacturer in the Manufacturer field.
The NDC, JCode, and unit type are filled in the corresponding fields.
- Enter the lot number and expiration date in the corresponding fields, and then select Add.
The
MLTS MedConfig Add PU window closes and the added medication appear in the first available row.
- Enter the quantity being given in the Qty field.
Note: For single dose medications, if you enter a quantity less than the vial amount, a message appears to confirm wasting the remaining quantity. You must select
Yes, and enter the waste details in the relevant fields.
If you give multiple injections to a patient from a single dose vial, document the total quantity in a single row. You can enter the location, side, and number of injections in Comments.
- In TX#, enter a treatment number.
The added on the fly medications are added to the inventory of your practice. You can view the added medications in the Medication Inventory panel on the Inventory Management system template.
