Update a Macro Function

On the Macro Function Library window, select the macro function you want to update in the Library window. Information for the selected macro function fills the Function, Name, and Comments boxes and the Function Body window. Change the name, comments, expression, and parameters, as needed, following the instructions in Add a Macro Function. To save the changes, select Update to the right of the Library window. To generate a list of current macro functions in a log file, enter the full file path in the Log to File box. Select OK. Parent topic: Macro Functions

Add a Macro Function

On the Macro Function Library window, enter the name for the new macro function in the USR box. You can include an underscore in the name, but none of the following special characters: ! ' " # $ % & ( ) * + , - . / \ : ; < > = ? @ [ ] ^ ` { } | ~ If applicable, fill in the Comments box. In the Function Body window, enter the expression or enter it through the following selections: Double-click the applicable item(s) in the Functions and Macro Functions lists. To quickly find and select a picklist, enter "PICK: to display the Pick List window. To display an IntelliSense list of options that you can select, enter the applicable IntelliSense characters. To replace all instances of a field, variable, or function in the condition with another field, variable, or function, you can use the Find and Replace feature. Delete a Macro Function

Macro Functions

Macro functions are custom functions for expressions that you can reuse in more than one template. Macro functions can include standard functions and other macro functions. You can insert macro functions in value calculations on the Assign Field Value window and in conditions on the Trigger Info window. You can export and import macro functions through the Template Import/Export utility. Macro functions can be created by users or by NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine administrators. The functions are prefixed by either USR for user-defined or NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine-defined. Note: You can use NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine macro functions in expressions, but you cannot update or delete them. Search Trigger Values

You can search for specified values in conditions and parameters for selected types of triggers in the currently open template. The search values can include fields, variables, functions, characters, or other values. You can then select a trigger from the search results for editing. Do one of the following: To automatically populate the search value with a specific template field, either: Right-click the field, and then select Find in Triggers from the menu. Select the field, and then select Find in triggers on the Main toolbar. To manually enter the search value, select Find in Triggers on the Triggers window. The Find In Triggers window opens. If applicable, the search value box displays the selected field. The window contains check boxes for commonly used triggers and for conditions. The Conditions and Assign Field Value check boxes are selected by default. If the search value is blank or you want to change it, enter the value in the input box. Create a Document Macro in the Document Builder

From the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Menu bar, select Tools and select Document Builder. The Document Builder TX Text Logon window opens. Go to Document Builder TX Text. The NextGen Document Builder TX Text main window opens. From the File menu, select New and select Blank Document. The Blank Document opens. On the Menu bar, select Tools and select Macro Builder. The Macro Builder window opens. Select the Create New Macro icon, select Summary Macro > Graphical Exam > Graph Exam Images. The macro creating or editing window opens. In the General section, select the following: Enter the Macro name. Select Horizontal from the Table Layout list. Select AutoFitColumn from the Image Layout list. In the Columns and Sort section, select Edit. The Macro Column Select window opens. Select the summary columns that you would like to use in your summary macro. Select Done.
