Template GroupDescription
  • Demographics Template
  • Demographics Popup
  • Demographics Extended Popup
  • Demographics Extended Popup View
Demographics templates store a patient's demographic information, such as the patient's address, employer, primary and referring providers, emergency contact, and insurance information. You can customize Demographic templates to include any patient-related information needed at your facility.
  • Medical Records Template
  • Medical Records Popup
  • Medical Records Extended Popup
  • Medical Records Extended Popup View
Medical Records templates store information related to a patient's medical history, including physical examination results. You can customize Medical Records templates to include any specific medical information needed at your facility.
  • Group Medical Records Template
  • Group Medical Records Popup
Group Medical Records templates enable providers to enter a single instance of specific data for multiple patients at the same time. The template-related functionality remains the same as that of the Medical Records templates and Medical Records Popup templates. However, the Group Medical Records templates and Popup templates save all entered data, not all of the patients who belong to the Patient Group selected.
  • System Template
  • System Popup
  • System Extended Popup
System templates store any necessary information without relation to either a patient and/or an encounter. The information stored in System templates can be viewed across the entire enterprise. System templates can be viewed or modified without selecting a patient.
  • Practice Template
  • Practice Popup
  • Practice Extended Popup
Practice templates are used to configure workflows and options which are applicable to the individual practice. A Practice template stores any necessary information without relation to either a patient and/or an encounter. The information stored in Practice templates can be viewed across a specific NextGen practice. Practice templates can be viewed or modified without selecting a patient.
  • Case Management Template
  • Case Management Popup
  • Case Management Extended Popup
A Case Management template stores all information relevant to a specific case without relation to an encounter. You can customize Case Management templates to include any specific medical and/or demographic and/or billing information needed at your facility.
  • Sidebar Template
A Sidebar template can be used for navigation within other template types. At run time, you can select the side of the screen to display the sidebar on, and select the sidebar to expand or retract it.

The following template types are available, depending on the template group:

  • Main base template
  • Popup templates

Popup templates enable you to quickly and efficiently enter data. To access and use a Popup template at run time, you can launch it from another template by using available triggers.

  • Extended Popup templates

Extended Popup templates enable you to enter multiple records. To access and use an Extended Popup template at run time, you can launch it from another template through a data sheet/grid field.

  • Extended Popup View templates

Extended Popup View templates enable you to create copies of Extended Popup templates, so that you can view the same data in a different workflow environment. Views provide functionality similar to sharing fields on a template. When you create an Extended Popup View template, select the Extended Popup template table that the view is being created for. The data entered into a View is technically stored in the original Extended Popup template table.

To access and use an Extended Popup View template at run time, you can launch it from another template through a data sheet/grid field.
