Graphical Exam Tool (GET) Component

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component enables you to create and manage GET settings. This section explains how to create and manage GET settings for profiles, findings, exam tools, procedures, attributes, and reasons for visit. This section also explains how to map findings and exam tools for a given practice, location, and provider. To extract data from the GET into documents, set up a Graphical Exam Summary macro in the Document Builder. Add a Reason for Visit to the GET

You may find that you have reasons for visit that require a corresponding finding in GET. After you have added a reason for visit, you must configure it to add exam tools and findings. On the GET template, select the icon. The Options and Setting menu opens. From the menu, select Settings. The Graphical Exam Tool -Settings window opens. Click the Reasons for Visit tab. Click Add. A New Reason for Visit entry appears at the top of the Reasons for Visit list and the Properties pane shows the default values for new reason for visit. Click Name and type the name of the new reason for visit. Ensure that the name you specify matches precisely the name of the reason for visit on the Intake template. Insert a GET Component

You can insert a Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component field on a Medical Records template. You can place one or more GET components on a template. You can hide the component when the template is launched using the Hidden property. For more information on the Graphical Exam Tool component, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Graphical Exam Tool User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Drag the Component icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Hosted Component Field Properties window opens. In the Field Name text box, enter the name you want to assign. Note: The name GET is reserved for system use and cannot be entered here. From the Component Name list, select GraphExamTool. The Profile Name field and Settings button are enabled. The Settings button enables you to add, update, remove, or view the settings for an existing profile. Graphical Exam Tool Annotations

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to: Place annotations on images to document the location of findings. The placement of the annotations is converted into text and captured as an attribute of the finding. The attributes are saved to the patient's chart. For example, a dermatologist can place findings for cancer on an image. The attributes related to each finding can include size, color, location, or description. Attach a finding to a chief complaint or reason for visit. You can attach multiple findings to different reasons for visit. Mark a finding for follow-up and create a to-do task for the finding. Attach an image (photo or drawing) to a finding. The image can be from the provider's file system or from the patient's chart for the current encounter. You can capture an image from a web cam or other video device for attachment to the finding. Create and update a lab, radiology, or immunizations order for a finding. Add a Finding to the GET

On the GET template, select the icon. The Options and Setting menu opens. From the menu, select Settings. The Graphical Exam Tool -Settings window opens. Click the Findings tab. Click Add. A New Findings entry appears at the top of the Findings list and the Properties pane shows the default values for a finding. In Name, replace the default value with the name of the finding. The name provided is used to mark the findings on the GET exam images. The maximum length for the name is 15 characters. In Description, type a description of the finding. The description appears in the Findings column on the GET. This description is used as Qualifier 2 when creating a template default for the new finding. GET Settings

The Graphical Exam Tool employs user profiles to control how the tool displays details and how aspects of the tool function. You can create and modify user profiles based on the requirements. For NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine, the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) is pre-configured with a user profile named derm_exam to meet the dermatologist’s specific requirements.
