Navigation Bar in Popup Template

A Popup template may display a navigation bar at the top, which enables you to go directly to the next step in a workflow without having to return to the main template. The navigation bar contains buttons you can select to open: Another Popup template. One of the following NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules: Allergies (Medication) Diagnoses (Billing ICD List tab in Problems module) Medications Problems (Problem List tab in Problems module) Procedures The buttons display images and tooltips that identify the template or module that can be opened. When you open a Popup template or module from a navigation bar, the parent Popup template is saved and does not remain in view. If a NextGen® Enterprise EHR module is opened, it is refreshed when you close it. Note: If the navigation bar is reconfigured during your work session, you must log off NextGen® Enterprise EHR and then log back on to view the changes. Parent topic: Using Templates

Open the Custom Navigation Template

You can configure the navigation bar at the practice level. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select File > System \ Practice Template. The Select Template window opens. Select Template Window Select the Practice tab. Under Show, select All. A list of practice level templates appear. To open the Custom Navigation template, double-click Custom Navigation. Set up Template Pop-Up Trigger

The Template Pop-Up action launches a predefined Popup template. You can place this trigger on fields on Sidebar templates as well as other template types. Use this trigger together with a Get Template Notification Data trigger to launch Popup templates for the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component. Follow the applicable steps in General Trigger Setup. Select the Template Pop-Up action. The Template Pop-Up window opens. Select the template or the field or variable you want to use to launch the template pop-up. Select Fields, Templates, or Variables, and then select the applicable item from the list that displays. Select the Ignore Alias check box to use the original NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: This functionality is available only if the NextGen® Enterprise EHR have been locked down. Select Script It. The Script Clipboard window opens with the script of the label. To copy the script to clipboard, select Copy to Clipboard. To close the window, select OK. If necessary, set up a specific

Set Up Links on the Navigation Bar

You can use the Custom Navigation practice template to configure links on the navigation bar. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Custom Navigation practice template. Enter a specialty and enter the name of the link in the Caption field. To search and add the template or list you want to associate with the caption, select Template / Picklist. In Link, enter the location of the link. Select any Age and Gender constraints. Custom Navigation To add the link to the navigation bar, select Add Link. The added link appears on the navigation bar. Using Templates

NextGen® Enterprise EHR uses templates to record and store patient demographic and medical information electronically. Templates provide a simple way to enter medical information and compile patient records. All of the data entered into a template can later be used for statistical reports, document generation, and further review of the patient's information. NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers a set of predefined templates known as the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine and enables the creation of user-defined templates by system administrators. Based on the setup of a specific template or trigger, some workflows may follow those in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules (for example, Medications, Procedures, Problems), and some may be specific to the template. Template Types

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the following template groups: Template Group Description Demographics Template Demographics Popup Demographics Extended Popup Demographics Extended Popup View Demographics templates store a patient's demographic information, such as the patient's address, employer, primary and referring providers, emergency contact, and insurance information. You can customize Demographic templates to include any patient-related information needed at your facility. Note: You can set an Enterprise Preference to enable practices to edit demographic extended popup data from other practices within the enterprise.
