Set up Patient Item Trigger

The Patient Item action launches an existing patient chart document or image by its ID for quick viewing without searching the patient's encounter tree. The item can be under any locked or open encounter on the patient's chart. You can launch the following types of patient items: Document Email Document Management (ICS) image Image Patient Education topic Report To use the Patient Item trigger, set up another trigger to assign the specific patient encounter item ID to a template variable or field. For example, you can create a patient document ID variable and a Summary Sheet that displays patient document information. You can then assign the item ID from a Row Selected event/Assign Field Value trigger on the Summary Sheet to the patient document ID variable. You can place the Patient Item trigger on a Medical Records (MR) template, Group MR template or a Sidebar template. Set up Modify Patient Trigger

The Modify Patient action triggers the display of the Update Patient Information window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. From the Modify Patient Information window, you can edit patient demographics and other information. The History tab of the window lists the changes you make. If you change the patient's name, the new name appears on the Title bar of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window. The Title bar also displays changes to the patient's date of birth, medical record number, gender, and Social Security number if practice preferences are set to display these fields. A Modify Patient option is also available on the File menu in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR application. Set Up a Patient Implantable Device Trigger

You can set up a Patient Implantable Device trigger in Template Editor to map the patient's implantable device information between a template and the Implantable Device module. Open Template Editor. Open a template. Set up a general trigger. From the Action list, select Patient Implantable Device. The Implantable Device window opens. Select the information for the available fields. Select OK. Template Editor saves the trigger information and closes the Implantable Device window. Note: If necessary, set up a specific condition for the Patient Implantable Device action which you want to trigger. Select OK to save the template. Patient Procedure Trigger Overview

You can execute a Patient Procedure trigger to add, update, or delete a procedure directly from a template to the patient's procedure list. The procedure is included in the Procedures and Superbill modules. It is also displayed in encounter history. The trigger can be used to post a diagnosis code to the current encounter even if the same code was posted to prior encounters on the patient's chart. Add Cardiac Device Information

You can search for the cardiac implantable devices and add implantable device information. Before you begin Select the Manual Entry check box in the Device - Card template for the Device/Lead Info link to appear. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. In the left Navigation bar, click Device. The Device - Card template opens. Select the appropriate diagnoses from DX1 and DX2. The diagnoses codes have been automatically entered next to the selected diagnosis. Device - Card Click Managing Dr, and select the provider. Click the Device/Lead Info link. The Implant Information - Device/Lead template opens. Patient Implantable Device Trigger Information

You must select the patient implantable device information on the Implantable Device window to create Patient Implantable Device trigger. Based on the what value you select for Action, the necessary fields remain enabled, and the rest of the fields get disabled. Note: The fields that are associated with the current template are available for selection. If you want to select a field that is not available, you must either create that field on the template or share it from another template. Field Description Action You can select the type of actions, such as Insert, Update, Delete, Remove, Link Procedure, Add Note, or Unlink Procedure.
