Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI)
You can configure gender neutral PE and ROS templates using the Detailed Sexual History tab. The Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) and Transgender section allows you to configure the following: Gender neutral PE and ROS templates for your practice A Detailed Sexual History tab for documenting the confidential sexual history The gender identity information that you want to include on the Master document Set the Pronoun of a Patient You can set the pronoun of a patient in all the NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine template concatenations, documents, and macros with the Pronoun to be Used for Concatenation field under the SOGI/Transgender section. Significant Events for Sexual Profile Changes
The application tracks changes to gender identity, sexual orientation, and preferred pronoun. When a patient's preferred pronoun, gender identity, or sexual orientation changes, the application generates a significant event. This event displays on the Significant Events report, the Advanced Audit report, and is tracked in the Chart History. Document Pediatric Confidential Sexual History
On the Histories template, expand the Social panel. Click the Confidential History link. The Peds Confidential History - Substances template opens. In the left pane, click Sexual Practices. The Peds Confidential History - Sexual Hx template opens. In the Sexual Practices section, to add or modify gender identity of the patient, double-click the Gender identity field to open the Gender window. Gender Select an option from the Available Genders list and click Add. Note: If you add the Decline to Answer option, you cannot select any other options from the Available Genders list. Similarly, you cannot select the Decline to Answer option in the Available Genders list when you have other gender option(s) placed in the Display these genders in this order list. The selected option appears in the Display these genders in this order list. Repeat the above step to add multiple options in the Display these genders in this order list. After you have selected the gender option(s), click OK to return

Update Gender Identity in the Template
You can add the gender identity for selected patient. The gender identities appear in a template if the patient chart has gender details recorded. Select a patient. Open the template which has ethnicity details. The Gender and Gender Identity Order appears in the data sheet. Double-click the data grid. The Gender window opens. In the Available Genders section, select the gender, and then select Add. The genders are added in the Display these genders in this order section. To the selected genders, do the following as per your requirement: To remove, select gender, and then select Remove. To rearrange, select gender, and then select Move Up or Move Down. Select OK. The genders are also updated in the Gender Identity field of Modify Patient Information window. Note: In the Gender Identity list, if you select the Additional gender category or other, please specify check box, the specified value does not display the label name. Parent topic: Using Templates
