Add General Information for Persons or Patients

You must add the person or patient's general identification information, such as the first and last name, social security number, birth date, sexual profile, and preferred pronoun. General information for a patient or person appears as a header on every tab of the patient or person information windows. Open NextGen® Enterprise. Open the People Lookup window, and then select New. The Add Person Information window opens. Select a Prefix preferred by the person or patient. Mr, Mrs, or Reverend. Enter the Last name and First name for the person or patient. Both are required fields. Select the Previous Last link and then enter the previous last name of the person or patient. Select the Previous First link and then enter the previous first name of the person or patient. Enter the person or patient's Middle name. Adding Information to Person or Patient Profiles

You can enter the following data on the Demographics tab of the Add Person Information or Add Patient Information window, General Information that includes name, sexual profile, social security number, and birth date. Significant events are generated when a patient changes their gender identity, sexual orientation, or preferred pronoun. Contact Information that includes phone numbers, email address, and preferred contact methods. Demographic Information that includes marital status, student status, preferred language, religious information, and dental and primary provider. You can also enroll the patient in the Enterprise Chart feature. Insurance Information that includes insurers, authorizations, referrals, and eligibility inquiries. Significant Events Report

The Significant Events report provides an audit trail for specific user activity that has occurred within the NextGen Enterprise applications. These are known as significant events. When a significant event occurs, a message is recorded in each patient's chart. The message includes the name of the user that performed the event, the date/time the event occurred, and both pre-modification and post-modification information. Some significant events are System Level and are recorded for all practices in all enterprises. Other events are Enterprise Level and are recorded for all practices within the same enterprise. Other events are Practice Level and are recorded for the practice(s) in which they have been enabled. Significant Events Preferences

The application tracks selected significant events for logging and auditing purposes. Selections made for significant events at the Enterprise level take effect across all practices. Selections for events at the Practice level must be made for each practice. All significant events are enabled by default. Significant events can be viewed in NextGen® Enterprise PM in the Significant Events report and at the account, chart, and encounter levels. Activate Significant Events You can select and track the significant events through the Enterprise, System, or individual practices. Significant Events Security Rights You can control access to the Significant Events Preferences by modifying the users group security rights.
