Insert a Graph Field

Drag the Graph icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Insert Graph window opens. Note: You may need to enlarge your template to make room for the graph field. In the Name box, enter the name for the field. To reposition the field on the template, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current vertical and horizontal coordinates displayed in the Position boxes. To resize the field, enter the appropriate numeric values to replace the current dimensions displayed in the Size boxes. From the Type list, select the source of the data for building the graph: Template Data. Data from selected template fields. Results. Data from a list of selected Lab or Radiology test results. Growth Chart. Data from a specified Growth Chart template: BMI, Height, Weight, Head (Circumference), Height vs. Weight. These standard growth charts are also used for Down syndrome patients. Insert an Order Control Field

You can use an order control field on a template in two ways: Insert the field on a Medical Records template to allow a user to view or enter lab, radiology, or immunizations order or result information in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Insert the field on a Practice or Practice Popup template to allow a user to manage all patient orders across a practice and update practice order filters in NextGen® Enterprise EHR at run time. Note: You can also use the Patient Lab Order trigger to order lab or radiology tests. You can use both the Patient Lab Order trigger and an order control field on a template. When the trigger is executed, the information displayed from the order control field can be refreshed to include the new lab or radiology order. Template Field Types

The following table explains the types of template fields listed in the order that they appear on the Fields toolbar. Field Description Label Labels allow you to add information to a template. You can set up a label as a header for the template or simply to enter text viewable template users. Data Entry (Edit) Data entry fields allow you to enter information into NextGen® Enterprise EHR through templates. These fields can be used to enter time, date, and numeric values, as well as user-defined text. Check Box Checkboxes allow you to enter data by selecting or clearing a predefined response. Push Button You can use buttons to trigger several different actions. Launching another template or module within NextGen® Enterprise EHR is the most common purpose of buttons. Data Sheet Data sheets display data from NextGen® Enterprise EHR tables in tabular or grid format. The following types of data sheets are available: Appointments, Case Sheet; Data Flow Sheet, Data Grid - CM (Case Management),

Insert a GET Component

You can insert a Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component field on a Medical Records template. You can place one or more GET components on a template. You can hide the component when the template is launched using the Hidden property. For more information on the Graphical Exam Tool component, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Graphical Exam Tool User Guide for NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Drag the Component icon from the Fields toolbar to the template design area where you want to place it. The Hosted Component Field Properties window opens. In the Field Name text box, enter the name you want to assign. Note: The name GET is reserved for system use and cannot be entered here. From the Component Name list, select GraphExamTool. Generate a Growth Chart from the File Menu

Before you begin Make sure that you have set up Graphing preferences that correspond to the template and field values that data are graphed from. To generate a specialty growth chart, set up the applicable preference for Gestational Age (premature patients), Down Syndrome Indicator, or Turner Syndrome Indicator. To graph a growth chart using a measurement date instead of an encounter date, enter the Measurement Date Column preference. You can also set up preferences to Print Patient Name, Print Patient Date of Birth, and Print Chart Print Time on the generated growth chart. Open the pediatric patient's history in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the File menu, select Graph, Growth Charts. Select one of the following: BMI Height Weight Head Circum Weight for Length NextGen® Enterprise EHR plots the graph for the selected growth chart using template data from all of the patient's encounters.
