When expiring a patient, you can stop active recalls and/or cancel future appointments. Depending on how your practice is setup you may be required to enter a reason for stopping a recall and/or cancelling future appointments. Stop Active Recall Setup for Expired Patients
When stopping active recalls for expired patients, you have the option of tracking the reason the recall was stopped based on your practice preference settings. To track the reason the recall was manually stopped, do the following: Add Recall Stop Reasons in File Maintenance Enable Tracking of Recall Plan Stop Reasons in Practice Preferences Add Reasons for Stopping Recalls in File Maintenance You can add reasons to stop recalls for patients who have died. Track Reasons for Stopping Recall Plans in Practice Preferences You can turn on tracking of reasons for stopping recall plans in Practice Preferences, ensuring that a reason is recorded whenever a recall plan is stopped. Stop Active Recalls for an Expired Patient
Open the Modify Person Information or Modify Patient Information window to update the expired patient data. Select the Expired checkbox. The Expired Date field becomes active. Enter the Expired Date for the person or patient. Select Yes to cancel them or No to keep them. Note: When Yes and Recall Plan Stop Reason tracking is turned on, a reason should be selected and confirmed. Select OK. Parent topic: Stopping Active Recalls for Expired Patients
