Set up Billing Error Notification

You can select a user group to be notified when there is a billing error, for example, when an immunization charge fails to be processed. In File Maintenance, select System > Practices > Preferences. The Practices List window opens. Locate and then double-click your practice. The Modify Practice Information window opens. Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. In the Preference List, select Orders Module, and then select the All tab. Select the appropriate group in Group to Notify for Failed Charges. Select OK. Viewing Immunizations Schedules and Vaccine Statuses

The Immunizations module enables you to access Immunizations schedules to determine when an immunization is due for a patient. You can also track the immunizations life cycle, including the immunization status. You can view the following schedule types when you access the Immunizations module: Chart Recommendation Registry Select the Immunizations Chart or Recommendation Schedules Viewing Additional Immunization Details on a Schedule The system displays detailed information about Immunizations when you uselect an Immunization status on the Chart view or Recommendation view. Viewing Excluded Vaccine Details You can view details of excluded vaccines by selecting the status column of the vaccine. Viewing Pediatric and Adult Immunizations Display Options You can set the system to display or hide pediatric vaccine recommendations for adult patients from Practice Preferences in File Maintenance. After setting up the Vaccine Inventory and the VIS documents, determine the Immunizations options for your practice. You can set up the following practice preferences in File Maintenance: Ignore Pediatric Vaccine Recommendations for Adult Patients Allergy Review VIS Print mode Default Registry Default VIS Category Vaccine Favorites Vaccine Schedule Flu Season Vaccine Schedule Show Registry History and Forecast tab Require Patient Confirmation for Immunization Query Enable Vaccine Dose Validation Disable Adult Dose Validation Note: To ensure appropriate billing notification, you must set up the group to notify. Set up the Vaccine Inventory for Immunizations

Before you start, run the most recent Medications Update. Set up your practice's Vaccine Inventory. Note: By default, the CPT code is mapped to the Service Item Master code. If your practice uses custom SIM codes, you can map these codes to the appropriate CPT code in File Maintenance > Systems > Vaccine Billing. Before building your vaccine inventory, it is recommended that you map your custom (or alternate) SIM codes, if necessary. Set up specific lot numbers for a component, if necessary. If your practice administers Immunizations to VFC-eligible patients and you have set up custom VFC SIM codes, you must select the VFC SIM code as the default or non-default using the Vaccine Billing option in File Maintenance. If your practice administers Flu Immunizations to patients with Medicare as the payer, you can set up the alternate Medicare Billing codes (Q codes) in the NDC Library to ensure accurate billing. For each visit, you need the flexibility to work with the Immunization functions as each event occurs in real time. If needed, for example, you may need to do any of the following: View or hide dose exceptions when administering immunizations. Select and document Excluded Immunizations. Document that an Immunizations series is complete. Mark a patient who has no previously documented immunizations for reporting purposes and tracking. Report adverse events. Document erroneous or wasted immunizations. Open File Maintenance or the Vaccine Inventory as you process an Immunization order. Viewing or Hiding Dose Exceptions when Administering Immunizations You can exclude one or more vaccine groups for patients and add contraindications if any.You can send contraindications that are added for vaccines to the immunization registry by creating immunization orders.
