Multiple Destinations and Internal Pharmacy

You can dispense a patient's medications to multiple destinations at the same time if a patient requires some medications be sent by mail order pharmacy and others sent to their local retail pharmacy. All medications (or if no medications designated for the interface transmission were selected) are marked to be submitted to the patient’s preferred pharmacy by default. You can also specify the destination through the right-click menu with the following options: Send to Default Retail Send to Mail Order The following setup is required to enable submission of patient medications to an internal pharmacy or multiple destinations: To enable the ability to send medications to multiple destinations, you must select the Allow Sending eRx to Multiple Destinations check box on the Medication list of the Practice Preferences window. Send Medications to Multiple Destinations

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open the Medications module. Select a medication. On the Medications toolbar, select Send. Note: If the pharmacy associated with the medication is hidden, a message appears with an option to select another pharmacy. The Send Prescription window opens. Note: For multiple medications, all associated pharmacies must be active before you can send the medications. Optional: To remove a hidden pharmacy message from the Alerts section, select a destination pharmacy that is not hidden in the Destination field or through the Manage Patient Pharmacies link. To fax the prescription, select Force to Fax. To set the selected pharmacy as the default primary pharmacy, select Patient's Primary Default Pharmacy. Set up the patient's primary, secondary, and mail-order default pharmacies using the Manage Patient Pharmacies link. Select Send. Submit Electronic Prescriptions of Controlled Substances

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, open the Medications module. Select Prescribe New.The Medication Search window opens. Select a controlled substance to prescribe. On the medication details toolbar, select Send. Note: If the Prescribed Elsewhere checkbox is selected, the Print and Send buttons are unavailable. You must review the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) report that is generated automatically when you prescribe a controlled substance.
