Management of Demographic Records

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM, demographic records can be added or modified from either the Person Information window or the Patient Information window. In NextGen® Optical Management, demographics records are added or modified from the Patient Information window. Before adding a demographic record for a new person or patient, you must perform a lookup to verify a record does not already exist in the database. This practice helps to avoid duplicate records. To modify a demographic record for an existing person or patient, you must also perform a lookup to access the existing record.
