PAQ Document Signoff by Multiple Providers

Multiple providers on a patient care team can sign off the same document sent by the encounter provider to each designated signee's Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Pending PAQ tab in the Workflow module. Only the encounter provider or the provider's delegate can initiate multi-user signoff and select additional signees. The multi-user signoff document is read only and remains in Pending status until all the designated signees or their delegates have signed it. If a document is rejected or regenerated by any signee, all existing signatures are erased, and the document is returned to the Pending PAQ of the encounter provider for review and further action. The encounter provider can restart multi-user signoff for the document and select the previous or new signees. Note: At this time, multi-user signoff is only available for PAQ documents. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can perform clinical tasks, sign-off documents, manage patient appointments, and manage correspondence with patients enrolled in NextGen PxP Portal.You can also alert a provider about specific concerns of a patient. The Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) tab in the Workflow module enables you an easy sign-off capability for documents, images, notes, NextGen Document Management images, orders, SAP® Crystal Reports®, and Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents. In the Workflow module, multiple providers from the patient's care team can sign off the same document sent by the encounter provider to each designated signee's Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Pending PAQ tab. Performing Encounter Provider or Delegate Signoff Actions

As the encounter provider or the provider's delegate, you can perform the following actions: Initiate or restart multi-user signoff on a pending Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) document. Add or remove signees after a multi-user document is rejected by a signee. Review a document that was rejected by a signee or regenerated by any user, and determine the appropriate action to take. Sign off a Multi-user Document

You must be a provider to sign off the document from the Encounter History or Categories tab. If you are a delegate for a provider, you must sign off the document from the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). You cannot reject a document you open from the Encounter History or Categories tab; you must reject it from the PAQ. If you need to revise the document that was sent to you for signoff, the best practice is to regenerate the document from the patient chart using the applicable template. If you edit the current document directly by entering free text, your changes are overwritten if another user regenerates the document. Regenerating the document disables multi-user signoff and removes the document from the PAQ of all signees. The document is returned as a single-user signoff document to the PAQ Pending tab of the encounter provider for review. The encounter provider may initiate multi-user signoff for the regenerated document. Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a PAQ-enabled provider.

Signoff Patient Document

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR you can sign off (accept) each patient document. If the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) is enabled, you can sign off the document either in the PAQ or directly in the Documents module. When a document is accepted in one location, it is automatically listed as accepted in the other location. If the PAQ is not enabled, you can only sign off the documents in the Documents module.
