Sign off or Reject a Multi-user Document from PAQ

Do one of the following: Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a Provider Approval Queue (PAQ)-enabled provider. If you are a provider's delegate, log on with your own credentials, and select the PAQ-enabled provider you are the delegate for in the provider list at the top of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window. Open the PAQ Pending tab in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. The most recent item added to the PAQ is selected by default and appears in the viewing pane on the right. If the default item is not the document for signoff, locate the document, and select to open it. You can view the electronic signatures at the bottom of the document. Note: If the encounter provider has not signed off a document that has been rejected by another signee, Sign-off and Sign-off with Actions are disabled, and you cannot sign off the document. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can perform clinical tasks, sign-off documents, manage patient appointments, and manage correspondence with patients enrolled in NextGen PxP Portal.You can also alert a provider about specific concerns of a patient. The Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) tab in the Workflow module enables you an easy sign-off capability for documents, images, notes, NextGen Document Management images, orders, SAP® Crystal Reports®, and Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents. In the Workflow module, multiple providers from the patient's care team can sign off the same document sent by the encounter provider to each designated signee's Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Pending PAQ tab. Only the encounter provider or the provider's delegate can initiate multi-user sign-off and select additional signees. Sign off a Multi-user Document

You must be a provider to sign off the document from the Encounter History or Categories tab. If you are a delegate for a provider, you must sign off the document from the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). You cannot reject a document you open from the Encounter History or Categories tab; you must reject it from the PAQ. If you need to revise the document that was sent to you for signoff, the best practice is to regenerate the document from the patient chart using the applicable template. If you edit the current document directly by entering free text, your changes are overwritten if another user regenerates the document. Regenerating the document disables multi-user signoff and removes the document from the PAQ of all signees. The document is returned as a single-user signoff document to the PAQ Pending tab of the encounter provider for review. The encounter provider may initiate multi-user signoff for the regenerated document. Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a PAQ-enabled provider.

Viewing Electronic Signatures on a Multi-User Signoff Document

You can view the electronic signature of each signee at the bottom of the document when you open it from the Encounter History or Categories tab or in the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). The electronic signature includes the provider's name, credentials, and signoff status, and the date and time stamp.If a delegate signs off the document, the signature indicates the provider it was signed off on behalf of. The electronic signatures are removed from the document when a signee rejects the document. The first example shows that the encounter provider and one signee have electronically signed the document. The signature is pending for the other signee. The second example shows that a delegate has signed the document on behalf of the signee whose signature was pending in the first example. Initiate Multi-user Signoff on a Pending PAQ Document

Do one of the following: Log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR as a Provider Approval Queue (PAQ)-enabled provider. If you are a provider's delegate, do the following: Log on with your own credentials. In the provider list at the top of the NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window, select the PAQ-enabled provider you represent. Open the PAQ Pending tab in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the pending items list, locate and select the document to work on. The document window opens on the right. To send the document to previously selected signees in an action set, select the action set name from the Sign-off with Actions list at the bottom of the document window. The document is removed from the encounter provider's list of pending PAQ items and sent for signoff. If a multi-user signoff document becomes a single-user signoff document through regeneration while the PAQ is open, a message may appear indicating that the document has changed since its last retrieval. Select OK to close the message window
