Open the Orders Module

You can open the Orders module from Top Toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to create and manage your orders . You can also access orders from the applicable templates if you are using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to place orders. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. The NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window opens. To open the Orders module, do one of the following: Select Orders on the Quick Buttons panel. Set Up Labs to Process in the Orders Module

You can configure order entry through the Orders module from the Labs tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Practice Configuration template. In the Orders/Plans section, on the Order Module line, select the Enable Order Module checkbox.In runtime, the Labs tab opens the Orders module instead of the Lab Master template. Set Up Rights for the Orders Module

To be able to use all of the features in the Orders module, settings in System Administrator have to be set. When set to Yes, it gives system users the rights to create and save orders and perform other functions through the Orders module. CAUTION: If users can access the Medical Records template with the Trend Results order control, they are able to view a patient’s test results. If your practice determines only certain users should be able to view a patient’s test results when they access the Medical Records template, you can set up the applicable Modules, Templates-Medical Records permissions in the System Administrator application. For more information about setting up permissions or template types that support Order Control fields, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the appropriate guide or guides.
