Document a Lab Order

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open a patient's record, and then open an encounter. Open the Intake template, select the specialty as Family Practice and the visit type as Office Visit, and then select My Plan. The My Plan window opens. Select the Labs tab.The Lab Master template opens. Select an assessment in the Today's Assessments grid. You can open the Orders module from Top Toolbar in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to create and manage your orders . You can also access orders from the applicable templates if you are using NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine to place orders. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select the Enable Order Module Setting on the Practice Configuration Template

You can select the enable Order module setting on the Practice Configuration template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. On the Practice Configuration practice template, in the Orders/Plans section, select the Enable Order Module checkbox. Select Save and Close. Process Lab Orders

You can process lab orders from the Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Expand the Today's Orders panel. Select the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link.The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template Select Labs or Radiology. Select the Vendor field, and select the vendor name from the list. Select the Unsubmitted option. In the Today's Orders grid, select the row for the order.The Include selected order button appears. To move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section, select Include selected order. To answer any questions associated with the orders, select AOE. Process Lab Orders

You can process Lab orders on the Checkout template. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Checkout template. Click the Today's Orders panel. Click the Lab/Radiology Order Processing link. The Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders template opens. Process and Submit Lab/Radiology Orders Select the Labs or Radiology option. Click the Vendor field and select the appropriate option from the list. In the Today's Orders grid, select the required row. The Include Selected Order arrow appears. To move the order to the Orders for Selected Vendor section, click the Include Selected Order arrow. To include the order in the Orders module, click Process/Submit. Click Save & Close.
