Access the Modify Person/Patient Information Window
Before you cancel future appointments for an expired patient, you need to access the patient/person information window. Select the Lookup icon to access the Modify Patient/Person Information window. The People/Patient Lookup window opens. Enter the search criteria for the desired patient. Then in the Matching Records list, double-click the applicable patient. The Modify Patient/Person Information window opens. When expiring a patient, you can stop active recalls and/or cancel future appointments. Depending on how your practice is setup you may be required to enter a reason for stopping a recall and/or cancelling future appointments. When expiring a patient, you can stop active recalls and/or cancel future appointments. Depending on how your practice is setup you may be required to enter a reason for stopping a recall and/or cancelling future appointments. Cancel Future Appointments for an Expired Patient
Canceling future appointments for an expired patient involves the following steps: Update date of expiry Cancel future appointments Open the Modify Person Information or Modify Patient Information window to update the expired patient data. Select the Expired check box. The Expired Date field becomes active. Enter the Expired Date for the person or patient. Do one of the following on the message that appears asking if you want to cancel future appointments: Select Yes. If appointment cancellation tracking is enabled in practice preferences, the Reason for appointment cancellation message opens. Select a cancellation reason and select OK. All future appointments are canceled. Select No. The future appointments remain in the system. A message appears asking you to cancel future appointments for the expired patients when you open the Modify Person Information or Modify Patient Information window or Chart for the expired patient in NextGen® Enterprise PM.
