Enroll a Patient in Enterprise Chart from the Modify Patient Information Window

If you did not enroll a new patient in Enterprise Chart from the Add Patient Information window, you can enroll the patient manually from the Modify Patient Information window. This option is available in the NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, and NextGen® Optical Management applications. Access the Patient Lookup window. Perform a search for the applicable patient. Select the patient. Do one of the following: Select the Open Menu button, and select Open. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, from the File menu, select Modify Patient. The Demographics tab of the Modify Patient Information window appears. Select the Enterprise Chart check box. Select OK. The existing patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Note: For a patient newly enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you may need to reopen the patient's chart to view information from other practices. Automatically Enroll Patients When Enterprise Chart Is Enabled

Open the General tab of the Enterprise Preferences window. For more information on Enterprise Preferences, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the latest File Maintenance Preferences Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. Select the Enterprise chart check box. A confirmation window appears, alerting you that this feature cannot be undone after it is turned on. To enable Enterprise Chart, select Yes. Note: All existing patients are automatically enrolled in Enterprise Chart when you enable it. A window appears, with the option to enroll patients by default. To enroll all new patients in the future, select Yes. The system automatically selects the Enroll Patients in Enterprise Chart check box. You can manually clear this check box later if you change your mind or made a mistake. Enterprise Chart Patients

If a patient is enrolled in Enterprise Chart, you can view the patient's clinical data across all practices within your enterprise. To view patient data in Enterprise Chart, patients must be enrolled in it. When you enable Enterprise Chart, all existing patients are automatically enrolled. You also have the option to enroll all new patients by default going forward. If you do not select this option when you enable Enterprise Chart, you can later enroll patients individually. If you need to enroll all patients at one time after Enterprise Chart is on, contact NextGen Healthcare Client Support for assistance. A person, a patient, and a patient enrolled in Enterprise Chart. are identified as follows: The Globe icon displays for people who do not have a chart. The Folder icon displays for people or patients with a chart. The Folder with a Small Globe icon displays for people or patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Search for a Person or Patient

Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. From the Tasks menu, select Lookup > Charts. The Patient Lookup window opens. To search for a patient, enter the search criteria data. You can use different combinations of the search criteria to search for a patient. Select Find. People and patient records that match the search criteria, appear in the display in the Matching Records section. NextGen® Enterprise PM displays different icons for persons, patients, and patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. The globe People icon icon indicates people who do not have a chart. The folder Patient icon icon indicates people or patients with a chart. The folder with a small globe People or Patients with an enterprise chart icon indicates people or patients enrolled in Enterprise Chart. Patient Lookup Window Note: To prevent creation of duplicate records, it is suggested to use a different criteria for performing the patient search if the desired person or patient is not found.
