Open Encounter Components

Before you begin Ensure that Access Rights in Rights > OPERATIONS > Encounters > View Encounter Summary is set to Yes in System Administrator to view the clinical data on the Encounter Summary window in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Note: When Access Rights is set to No, the data on the right side of the Encounter Summary window is hidden. However, you can still view and use the documents, images, templates, and files that appear on the left side of the window. You can view the type of clinical data associated with the encounters and the properties of documents, images, or SAP Crystal Reports within an encounter on the Encounter History tab. Generate and Print SAP Crystal Reports

After you set up a report, you can generate and print or fax a SAP Crystal Reports. When you generate a report, you can do any of the following: Print Preview Fax Save to Chart NextGen® Enterprise EHR can store patient chart items (Documents, Images, Notes, Report, and so on) in multiple locations. If enabled, this functionality allows you to store items from the patient chart in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable Multiple Storage Locations support for Patient Chart Items, the setting automatically overrides the directory setting for the type of an item specified in the Universal Preferences. Options Available for Patient Chart Items

The options available for patient chart items are as follows: Option Description Provider Signoff Details Displays the current signoff status, rendering provider, provider reassignment (if applicable), and comments for a patient document. Send to IHVDI This option is not compatible with NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.6 and above. The same functionality is available using NextGen® Document Management. Clinical Reconciliation Opens the Clinical Reconciliation window for the C-CDA documents. Send to Patient Portal Opens the Patient Portal Document Export window to export a document, image, or SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: The Send to Patient Portal option is disabled if the NextGen® PxP Portal license has expired. Encounter History/Categories Document Menu

You can select a patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab to display the document menu with the following commands: Command Description Provider Signoff Details Displays the current signoff status, rendering provider, provider reassignment (if applicable), and comments for a patient document. Send to Patient Portal Opens the Patient Portal Document Export window to export a document, image, or SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: If the document is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal, the icon appears next to the document icon. Patient Portal History Details Displays the audit trail of a document that is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Recategorize Opens the Recategorize this item window. Properties Displays the document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document. Opening Patient Chart Items from Data Sheets

Templates may contain Case Sheets, Encounter Sheets, or Summary Sheets that display saved templates, documents, reports, emails, and images from the patient's encounters. The Summary Sheet displays all items for all encounters. The Encounter Sheet displays all items for the selected encounter. The Case Sheet displays all items related to the case from all encounters. You can double-click a displayed item in the data sheet to open it. If you open a template (regular or non-Extended Popup), you can enter data in it and save it. CAUTION: To view and work on templates, documents, reports, emails, and images in NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you must be granted the appropriate rights in the System Administrator application. Work with Generated SAP Crystal Reports

After SAP Crystal Reports are generated, you can update the settings and work with them using the Report Dialog or by accessing certain reports from within other NextGen® Enterprise EHR modules. You can also access generated SAP Crystal Reports that are attached to a patient's chart using the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Encounter History or Categories tab. For example, you can do the following: View provider sign off details. View the properties of an SAP Crystal Reports within an encounter. Export an SAP Crystal Reports to NextGen® PxP Portal (for clients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal). View the history details of SAP Crystal Reports sent to NextGen® PxP Portal.
