View eRx Status
The eRx Status enables you to track the status of newly submitted prescriptions, medication refills, and updates to prescriber information that are sent through the Surescripts ®network. For example, you can verify that new prescriptions have been delivered to a specific pharmacy on a certain date.
- From the Main menu, select View > eRx Status.
The eRx Status window opens.
- To filter your search results, select the applicable options from the following lists:
- User
- Provider
- Pharmacy
- Network
- Message Type
- Status
You can also select the ellipsis button next to the User, Provider, or Pharmacy list and search for a specific user, provider, or pharmacy.
Note: To search only by Assigned Provider and Current User, the eRx Status Dialog operation rights ( Multi-Provider Search and Multi-User Search) must be changed in System Administrator. - To search by date, select Date and then specify the date range.
Note: If you do not select Date, the search may take longer time to complete. NextGen Healthcare recommends that you specify a date range whenever possible to ensure more efficient searching.
- If you want the application to search automatically based on the selected search criteria when you access the eRx function next time, select Auto Search.
- To search by patient, enter full or partial name of the patient.
For example, if you enter Smi in the Last field, all patients whose last name start with Smi appear in the search results.
- To search by medication, enter full or partial name of the medication.
- Select Search.
The search results appear.The different types of status that appear include:
- Synchronous. The pharmacy is directly associated with Surescripts.
- Pending
- Error
- Sent - Verified
- Received - Verified
- Asynchronous. The pharmacy is associated with Surescripts through an aggregator that collects and processes the prescriptions.
- Sent - Pending Verification
- Sent - Verify time out
- Verified
- Sent Error
Note: If an error occurs, the Error Description column displays the reason.
- Synchronous. The pharmacy is directly associated with Surescripts.
- To change the sequence of the column display in the search results section, drag the column to the position you want.
- To return the column display sequence to the default setting, select Ctrl+Shift+R.
- To view the information about the patient, medication, pharmacy, provider, or miscellaneous details, do one of the following:
- Double-click a message from the search results.
- Select a message from the search results and select Details.
The Patient tab of the eRx Details window opens. - Select a tab to view the information.
Note: If a prescription requires a supervising physician's authorization, the supervising physician's information appears on the Supervisor tab. This tab appears only if a supervisor has been selected in File Maintenance.
