Select CCD Generation Options

A trigger option may be set to automatically display the Generate CCD window when you try to generate a CCD. To select CCD generation options, you can select the applicable options and complete the fields in the window as explained in the following table. Option/Field Description Longitudinal Generate the CCD for all of the patient's encounters for the practice. Encounter (default) Generate the CCD for the specific encounter selected from the list of patient encounters. Path If needed, change the file path in one of the following ways: Enter the new path. Select the ellipsis button to open the Open window. Locate the file, and select the Open button to populate the path. Export to Rosetta Select this check box to send the CCD to NextGen® Enterprise Rosetta Interface Messenger for processing. Provider Search

Select a CQM provider if you are reporting Clinical Quality Measure for Meaningful Use for a provider who should get credit for any quality measures which are related to the process you are executing, and the provider differs from the provider listed. A Generate CCD trigger option may be set to always open the Provider Search window or when the CQM provider is unknown. You can also access the window from the Generate CCD window. If known, enter all or part of the practice name and address in the Details section, and all or part of the provider name and phone and fax numbers in the Contact section. If you do not provide any information, all providers are listed. Select Search. The results that match your search criteria appear. Select a provider from the list, and then select OK. Generating a CCD

To generate CCDs, your practice must purchase NextGen® Clinical Interface Bundle including all applicable Rosetta agents. After NextGen® Clinical Interface Bundle is installed and configured, you can run the Generate CCD trigger on a NextGen® Enterprise EHR template. Depending on the trigger setup, a CCD can be generated for a selected patient encounter or all patient encounters (longitudinal). You can also choose to generate CCDs as local files or export them to an external system such as a NextGen Health Information Exchange or Health Information Service Provider (HISP). Retrieve a CCD from an HIE

Before you begin Ask your system administrator which NextGen® Enterprise EHR template and control (such as a button or field) to use to retrieve the CCD. Your practice may set up the ability to communicate with a NextGen Health Information Exchange to retrieve the most current CCD available for the patient. If this functionality is in place, you can execute a Stored Procedure trigger on a NextGen® Enterprise EHR template to retrieve the CCD from the NextGen® HIE. Note: Your practice may have other ways to retrieve a CCD from NextGen HIE. Check with your system administrator to see if another process is being used. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, select the patient for whom you want to retrieve the CCD. Open the applicable template. Select the template field control that triggers CCD retrieval. Patient Document Generation

You can generate patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR on the workstation you are logged on to or offline on a remote workstation. Before generating a particular document, make sure that you have selected a patient. Also you can check that all the relevant data is entered into the patient medical record. You can select options to save or print a patient document or send it to a patient account on NextGen® PxP Portal website when it is generated. You can create documents in two other ways: A template may be configured with a Launch Document trigger that you can execute to generate a document. Use NextGen® Enterprise EHR Quick View feature to generate a document in real time as you work on a patient encounter. You can then save and attach the document to the patient chart. Continuity-of-Care Documents (CCDs)

You can run template triggers in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to generate or retrieve Continuity-of-Care Documents (CCD) documents that contain patient demographic and clinical data.
