To generate CCDs, your practice must purchase NextGen® Clinical Interface Bundle including all applicable Rosetta agents. After NextGen® Clinical Interface Bundle is installed and configured, you can run the Generate CCD trigger on a NextGen® Enterprise EHR template. Depending on the trigger setup, a CCD can be generated for a selected patient encounter or all patient encounters (longitudinal). You can also choose to generate CCDs as local files or export them to an external system such as a NextGen Health Information Exchange or Health Information Service Provider (HISP). For more information, contact NextGen Healthcare Client Support.
Note: Your practice may have other ways to generate a CCD. Check with your system administrator to see if another process is being used.
CAUTION:
In order to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT) requirements for security of patients’ medical information, NextGen Healthcare strongly recommends that any and all instances of patients’ Protected Health Information (PHI) that are stored on portable media devices be encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) – 128-bit or higher.
For more information on the security of patients’ medical information, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest NextGen® Enterprise Security, Privacy and Confidentiality Summary Guide.
