Tall Man Medications

Tall Man casing for medications enables you to visually distinguish between medications that have similar names. When there are similar medication names, they will display with some of the letters capitalized. For example, acetazolamide and acetohexamide have similar names. In the First Data Base listing, the display names are acetaZOLAMIDE and acetoHEXAMIDE and display as such in the Medications module and medication search windows. You can enable and disable Tall Man Medications at the practice level in File Maintenance. Note: Users can override the setting in the NextGen® Enterprise user preferences. Enable Tall Man Medications

In File Maintenance, select Master Files > EHR > Practices. The Practices List window opens. Double-click a practice.The Modify Practice Information window opens. Modify Practice Information Select Preferences. The Practice Preferences window opens. Medication option is selected from the Preference List From Preferences List, select Medication. Practice Preferences for the Medication Module

The table shows your options for configuring practice-level settings for the Medication module in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Field Description eRx: always send generic name if not DAW Select this option to have all medications sent through eRx using the generic name unless the provider selected the Dispense as Written checkbox. Enable Standard Sigs This field is not currently used. Enable Sig Override This field is not currently used. Allow Prescribing Delegates Select this option to allow providers with to delegate users with appropriate rights for sending medications on their behalf. When you select this option, a user preference becomes available in NextGen® Enterprise EHR for providers to limit and manage the delegates. Note: The self relationship refers to having the Provider Relationship field for the provider set to Self in System Administrator. Users who have the security right that allows users to add medications can add medications to the module using any provider’s name regard
