Imaging Module

The Imaging module enables you to use clinical images while working with a patient’s medical record in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can only access the Imaging module when an image is saved to the patient's chart. With the module, you can open existing images to modify, illustrate, annotate, convert, and save them to a patient's history. You can also scan an image, perform necessary modifications, and then save it. Each image is cataloged by patient, date, and title. From the Imaging module, you can add, modify, print, or delete Quicknotes, or add provider signatures to NextGen® Document Management images. Modification or annotation of NextGen® Document Management images is not enabled. Multiple Storage Locations for Patient Chart Items

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the ability to store patient chart items (such as documents, images, notes) in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable multiple storage locations for patient chart items, it automatically overrides the directory setting specified in the Universal Preferences for that item type. You can store patient chart items (such as documents, images, notes) in your NextGen environment in the following ways: In the local document path set up in Universal Preferences in the System Administrator module. Configuring Email with NextGen® Enterprise EHR

The Workflow module provides you an easy access to your email. Whenever you log on to NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you automatically log on to your email if you have selected a default Microsoft® Outlook® profile. You must configure your email before using the Inbox. All the basic features are similar to Microsoft Outlook. NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to store patient chart items (such as documents, images, and emails) in multiple locations. Enable multiple locations storage functionality to store the items from the patient chart in separate directories, that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable Multiple Storage Locations support for the patient chart items, it automatically overrides the directory setting for the type of an item specified in the Universal Preferences. Set Up Storage Locations

You can set up your storage locations for patient chart items. From File Maintenance, select Master Files > System > Storage Locations. The Storage Locations List window opens. To edit an existing storage location, double-click a Storage Name. To create a storage location, select open menu and select New. The Storage Location window opens. Enter the following information: In Storage Name, enter a name for the storage location. In the Storage Type section, select the File System option. In the File Storage section, enter the path of the storage location or select open folder to select a folder you want to use as the location. In the Application section, select the EHR option. In the Note field, enter comments on the storage location, if any. Either select Next to enter another storage location or select OK to exit the Storage Location window. Add an Existing Image to the Patient Chart

NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to add an image to the patient chart. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR and select a patient. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. To open the Images module, do one of the following: On the Top Toolbar, select the Images icon. On the main menu, select File > New > Image. The Open Image File window opens. Open Image File Window Select an image from the list of available files, and then select the Open button. Note: If the selected image is too large for the available memory during NextGen® Enterprise EHR import, a prompt appears indicating insufficient memory.
