NextGen® PxP Portal Document Export

You can export a patient document from the patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to the patient NextGen® PxP Portal account. You can export the patient document from the Encounter History or the Categories tab. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to export documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account in a number of other ways: From the File menu, you can select Export Patient Documents, or can select Patient Portal > Documents > Send EHR Document. You can create a custom rule in the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). You can set up a Launch Document template trigger in Template Editor. Print Patient Documents

You can print one or more documents that you have generated. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, generate a new patient document, or open an existing patient document. If desired, preview the patient document before you print it. From the Menu bar, select File > Print, or select the Print icon on the Document bar in the viewer. If you have not previously saved your document, the Save Document window opens. Select OK. The Print window opens. Select the desired printer. To print a group of patient documents, use the Custom Print\Fax function in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select OK to print your document. Storage Locations for Images

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the ability to store patient chart items (such as documents, images, notes) in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable multiple storage locations for patient chart items, it automatically overrides the directory setting specified in the Universal Preferences for that item type. Set Up BLOB

By default, all patient files are stored as flat files on the hard disk. You can change this setting so that all patient files are stored as BLOBs (Binary Large Objects) in the database. Note: If you enable this option, you cannot disable it at a later time. For information about using BLOBs, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community and download the latest Signature Blobulizer Utility Guide for NextGen Ambulatory EHR . To store all patient files as BLOBs, select the View menu > System Info. The NextGen System Info window appears. Select the Store Patient Files As BLOBs check box. Select OK. Patient Documents

Patient documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR can be a medical or lab report, a referral form, a professional letter, or any other custom-designed form. You can generate new patient documents from previously created user-defined format documents in the Document Builder. When a patient document is generated, macros in format documents insert data from selected template fields. A patient document can be created locally or remotely on a remote workstation. The patient documents are attached to the applicable encounter in the patient's chart. The patient's chart may also contain documents created outside Document Builder. Third-party documents are imported through the NextGen® Interface Engine Document Import Agent. NextGen® Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Continuity-of-Care (CCD) documents are attached to the NextGen® HIE Documents Category of the Categories tab.
