Sorting Stored Procedures Report Columns
Starting with NextGen® Enterprise EHR 5.8.1, you can sort columns for Stored Procedures using the Sorting function. For specific steps, see Selecting Stored Procedure Data.

The Stored Procedure Data function is an advanced reporting feature. To use this function, you must have advanced knowledge of the NextGen database structure and SQL knowledge. If you have questions about using this function, contact your System Administrator. Select SP from the Report Filter Settings List. Note: Stored Procedures Reports are available for Enterprise-Level Reports ONLY. Report Filter Select whether you wish to filter on a Stored Procedure or a View. Select the Stored Procedure or the View from the list. Note: The "ngsprep_care_guidelines" is an SP report when run, pulls the record of all patients (in alphabetical order) due for clinical guidelines. Report Filter Setup any desired filters (Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Less Than, Like) for any of the available parameters. Select the Columns tab (in the pane not the Settings List). Open the Report Filter. From the Settings List in NextGen Report Filter: Patient window, select Patient. Report Filter Set up filters for the patient demographic data. To search for Gender, Zip, Race, and Ethnicity, select . Note: If you select more than one race for a patient, all the selected races appear for that patient when you generate the report. To filter by patient number, select a parameter from the Person Nbr list and enter the value. Select the patient's Risk Level as high, medium, or low, or select to do the following. Patient Risk Level Enter the search criteria such as, high, medium, or low. Select Search. Use the right arrow to move the status to the selected items pane. Select OK. The risk level appears in the Risk Level filter on the Patient tab. Select the type of patient status to include from the Patient Status list, or select . You typically select the patient demographic columns along with the report data columns after you have specified report data and before generating a report. For example, if you want to generate a Diagnosis report, you would first set Diagnosis filters; and then, select the columns. You would select the columns and filter the patient demographic fields, if necessary. Depending on the type of report you need to generate you can select patient demographic columns along with the report data columns. In some cases, the patient demographic columns could be selected before you select report data. For example, if you know you do not want to include information about deceased patients on the report, you could deselect that column before specifying report data. The selecting and sorting report columns options provide greater flexibility and the ability to easily customize each report to display the appropriate report data and patient information. When you open the Report Filter, the patient demographic columns display in the right pane. These are the default columns that you can select or clear prior to generating a report. You can further filter the patient demographic data by selecting specific parameters. NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to sort data sheet columns at run time for display purposes only. You can sort data sheets by column in ascending or descending order by selecting the header or using the Sort Special command. If you use the Sort Special command and select a specific column, the ascending/descending order is applied to that column. If you do not select a column, the ascending/descending order is applied to the first column by default. Note: If you are using a Data Flow Sheet, it is sorted by encounter dates, either in ascending or descending order. You cannot save the user-defined, column sort order; templates always default to the column sort order set up in Template Editor. You cannot sort a stored procedure data sheet column by selecting its header or by using the Sort Special command. Open a template. Right-click in the data sheet, and then select Sort Special. You can sort the problem list details. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Open the Histories template. Expand the Problem List panel. To sort the problem list details by the last addressed date, the onset date, or the provider, select the Sort Data Grid by field, and select an appropriate option.
