If you are an administrator, you can set up certain features related to implantable devices:
Enable users to access and make changes to the implantable device list.
Add reasons for deactivating an implantable device record.

Add Implantable Device Inactive Reasons
You can select a reason to explain why an implantable device is in the Inactive state.

Delete an Implantable Device Record
You can delete the record of an implantable device that was added by mistake or that is no longer active. Open the Implantable Devices window. A collapsed list of devices appear. Implantable Devices Select Delete Device. The Delete Record window opens. Note: The This item was entered in error check box is selected by default. If the item was not added by mistake, clear the This item was entered in error checkbox in the Delete Record window, and then select Yes. The implantable device record is deleted. Note: To view the deleted implantable device records, open the Implantable Devices window and select Deleted Items. Parent topic: Implantable Devices List

Deactivate an Implantable Device Record
Mark an active implantable device record as inactive to deactivate it. Open the Implantable Devices window and locate an active device record. Select the record to expand it and verify that you selected the correct record. To deactivate a device: Select Modify Device. The Modify Implantable Device window opens. In Device Placed, select the date that the device was placed. In Device Status, select Inactive. In Note, enter a note that explains the reason for changing the device status, or provides more details about the device. Select OK. The Device Status displays Inactive. The Notes section tracks all changes to the Device Status. Select OK. The window moves the inactive device below the active devices. Reactivate an Implantable Device Record
In the Implantable Devices window, locate an inactive device record. If necessary, select the record to expand it and verify that you selected the correct record. Select Activate. The record updates to active status and a note is automatically added stating who activated the record. Select Save. The window moves the newly active device to the top of the list and adds the date and time of the re-activation. Parent topic: Implantable Devices List

Open the Implantable Devices List
Open the Procedures Module. Select a patient encounter. In the Procedures module, select Implantable Devices. The Implantable Devices window opens and displays a collapsed list of existing devices. The devices are displayed with the Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) preferred term name in bold. The active devices appear at the top of the list followed by inactive devices in reverse chronological order. Unlink a Procedure from an Implantable Device
You might want to remove the link between the procedure and an implantable device for several reasons. One reason could be that the wrong procedure is linked to an implantable device record. Another reason might be that the procedure has been deleted from the system. Even though the procedure no longer exists, the procedure information continues to display for the device until the procedure link is removed. In the Implantable Devices window, expand the device record. Silicone dental impression material Select Remove link, and then confirm the removal. Remove an Implantable Device
You can mark a device as an explanted device if it has been removed from the patient. Open the Implantable Devices window. A collapsed list of devices appear. Implantable Devices To mark a device as an explanted medical device, select Remove Device. The Remove Implantable Device window opens. In Device Removed, select the date the device was removed. In Note, enter a note that provides more information about the explanted device, and then select OK. The Device Status field in the Implantable Device window displays Explanted Medical Device.
