Document a Patient Has No Known Procedures

You can document within a patient’s chart that the patient did not have any known procedures performed. Open the Procedures Module.. Select the No Known Procedures check box. Procedures Note: If Enterprise Chart is turned on, the information applies to all practices under that enterprise. If Enterprise Chart is not turned on, the information applies only to the currently selected practice. To meet regulatory guidelines, the information is extracted when a Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) document is generated for reporting purposes. If procedures are listed and the check box has not been cleared, the check box is ignored when C-CDA data is extracted. The check box does not automatically clear when procedures are added to the patient chart. When the check box no longer applies, you must manually clear the check box. You must have View and Update permissions in the System Administrator. In System Administrator, open Rights > Modules > Medical Records > Procedures/Impla

Delete an Implantable Device Record

You can delete the record of an implantable device that was added by mistake or that is no longer active. Open the Implantable Devices window. A collapsed list of devices appear. Implantable Devices Select Delete Device. The Delete Record window opens. Note: The This item was entered in error check box is selected by default. If the item was not added by mistake, clear the This item was entered in error checkbox in the Delete Record window, and then select Yes. The implantable device record is deleted. Reactivate an Implantable Device Record

In the Implantable Devices window, locate an inactive device record. If necessary, select the record to expand it and verify that you selected the correct record. Select Activate. The record updates to active status and a note is automatically added stating who activated the record. Select Save. The window moves the newly active device to the top of the list and adds the date and time of the re-activation. Parent topic: Implantable Devices List

Add an Implantable Device to an Encounter

You can add implantable devices only to unlocked encounters. The information used to create the implantable device record is received from the FDA-created Global Unique Device Identification Database (GUDID). In the Implantable Devices window, select Add Device. The Select Implantable Device window opens. In the search bar, enter the full or partial name of a device. You can also enter multiple search terms separated by spaces, or you can copy and paste the device's unique device identifier (UDI). Select Search. A list of devices matching your search appear on the window. Select Implantable Device Select the device you want to add, and select OK. The Select Implantable Device window closes and the device is added to the implantable devices list. Note: You might not see all available fields. Remove an Implantable Device

You can mark a device as an explanted device if it has been removed from the patient. Open the Implantable Devices window. A collapsed list of devices appear. Implantable Devices To mark a device as an explanted medical device, select Remove Device. The Remove Implantable Device window opens. In Device Removed, select the date the device was removed. In Note, enter a note that provides more information about the explanted device, and then select OK. The Device Status field in the Implantable Device window displays Explanted Medical Device. Deactivate an Implantable Device Record

Mark an active implantable device record as inactive to deactivate it. Open the Implantable Devices window and locate an active device record. Select the record to expand it and verify that you selected the correct record. To deactivate a device: Select Modify Device. The Modify Implantable Device window opens. In Device Placed, select the date that the device was placed. In Device Status, select Inactive. In Note, enter a note that explains the reason for changing the device status, or provides more details about the device. Select OK. The Device Status displays Inactive. The Notes section tracks all changes to the Device Status. Select OK. The window moves the inactive device below the active devices.
