Send Patient Documents from Encounter History
Before you begin To send the NextGen® Document Management images to NextGen® PxP Portal, ensure that the Rights > Operations > Imaging > Send Doc Mgmt Image to Patient Portal in System Administrator must be set to True and the necessary access rights must be enabled. If the right is set to No, the Send to Patient Portal option appears disabled for the selected image. You must also select the Patient Portal Accessible check box for the document type in File Maintenance. You can export documents, images, or SAP® Crystal Reports® objects from NextGen® Enterprise EHR to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. View the Patient Portal History Details
When you send a NextGen® Enterprise EHR patient chart item such as a document, image, or SAP® Crystal Reports® to a NextGen® PxP Portal, the system creates an audit trail. The system also records when the patient opens the item from the NextGen® PxP Portal. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a NextGen® PxP Portal enrolled patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view the history details of an item sent to NextGen® PxP Portal, do one of the following: Select the Encounter History tab, Select an encounter, and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. NextGen® PxP Portal Document Export
You can export a patient document from the patient chart in NextGen® Enterprise EHR to the patient NextGen® PxP Portal account. You can export the patient document from the Encounter History or the Categories tab. Note: NextGen® Enterprise EHR enables you to export documents to the patient's NextGen® PxP Portal account in a number of other ways: From the File menu, you can select Export Patient Documents, or can select Patient Portal > Documents > Send EHR Document. You can create a custom rule in the Provider Approval Queue (PAQ). You can set up a Launch Document template trigger in Template Editor. Encounter History/Categories Document Menu
You can select a patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab to display the document menu with the following commands: Command Description Provider Signoff Details Displays the current signoff status, rendering provider, provider reassignment (if applicable), and comments for a patient document. Send to Patient Portal Opens the Patient Portal Document Export window to export a document, image, or SAP® Crystal Reports® to NextGen® PxP Portal for patients enrolled in NextGen® PxP Portal. Note: If the document is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal, the icon appears next to the document icon. Patient Portal History Details Displays the audit trail of a document that is sent to NextGen® PxP Portal. Recategorize Opens the Recategorize this item window.
