You can send messages to an enrolled patient using Patient Portal.
You can compose and send messages using Patient Portal to an enrolled patient or an internal user or group.
- In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, do one of the following:
- From the Cohorts tab, run a report.
- From the My Lists tab, run a list.
- From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients.
The patient list appears in the patient grid.
- In the patient grid, select the check box next to the patient's name.
- From Message, select Patient Portal.
The Patient Portal Message window opens.
- From the To list, select a recipient.
- In Subject, enter the subject of the mail.
- From the From list, select the sender's name.
The online profiles you belong to appear in the From list.
- Under the message section, enter a message or insert a standard response.
Note: The appearance of the Standard Responses window is controlled from the right-click menu.
- If required, perform any of the following actions:
- Set the message properties
- Add attachments
- Set Priority
- Define whether message contains clinical information
- Save as draft
- Schedule a delayed delivery
- Select Send & Chart
Note: The message is sent to patients, and gets added to the patient's chart.
- If you select Send & Chart when a patient is included with non-patient recipients, the message is added to the default encounter type in the patient's chart.
