Select the Confidential Test Indicator in the NextGen Compendium in the Orders Management Console

As a provider, you may want to restrict access to certain test results. If you select the Confidential indicator for a test when it is being loaded with the NextGen compendium, you can control access to it and keep the results confidential. Open the Orders Management Console. Select NextGen compendium. Look for the Confidential column and select the check box for any test that you want confidential for your practice. Select Save to store the values and the compendium is stored. Note: Continue with loading the compendium files. Update NextGen Test Code in a Compendium

You can update the NextGen Test associated with a test in a compendium. Open Orders Management Console. Open the download of a compendium. Select the down arrow next to the test code and select a code from the list of similar tests. Select Save or Save Modified. The new test code is saved. Note: In the Order Test Codes page of the Labcorp compendium, the New NextGen Test (Code) column displays the new test description with code, and the Current NextGen Test (Code) column displays the existing description with code from the NextGen database. Run the Orders Management Console from the Desktop

Early versions of the Orders Management Console were not included on the NextGen application launcher. If the Orders Management Console is installed and the icon is on your desktop, complete the following steps to run the program. Go to C:\Nextgen. Look for OrdersManagementConsole.exe. Make a shortcut for it and drag it onto your desktop. Double-click the icon . Enter your credentials. The Orders Management Console window opens. Note: If this is the first time you have run the Orders Management Console, you are asked to complete some option settings before you can continue. Parent topic: Orders Management Console

If you did not set the Confidential indicator for tests when the NextGen compendium was being loaded in the Orders Management Console, you can control access using File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > System Master Files > Test Compendium. Search for the test by the NextGen Test Key, or by Description. Select to open the record. Set the File Maintenance Confidential Flag for Tests

When the NextGen Compendium is created, one of the flags that can be set in the file is a privacy setting. When you use the Orders Management Console to update the NextGen Compendium, a column in the update file contains a value for the Confidential flag to be used for each entry. It is set by selecting the Confidential indicator check box on for any test. If the tests you want to be confidential were not set at the time the compendium was loaded, you can do it later in File Maintenance. From the Application Launcher menu select File Maintenance > System Master Files > Test Compendium. Search for the test by the NextGen Test Key, or by Description. Select to open the record.
