Recategorize the Category Items

On the Categories tab, you can recategorize the documents, images, and files. You can add a selected document, image, or file to one or multiple categories, or you can remove it from the category. Note: You cannot recategorize the NextGen® Document Management images. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. To view a document, image, or file, do one of the following: Select List View from the list. Select Tree View from the list. To expand all categories; select a category, select Category Options , and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select . Add a Document to a Category

Before you begin You must have the necessary user rights to add a document to a category. You can categorize your documents in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. When you are adding a document initially to an encounter, you can add it to certain categories. If you are adding a document with an existing document name for the encounter, you can not assign, change, or add the document to the categories. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To open the Documents module, do one of the following: On the Top Toolbar, select the Documents icon. On the main menu, select File > New > Document. The Generate Document window opens displaying the available documents. On the Generate Document window, do the following: Select the Categories option.The Categories pane opens within the Generate Document window. Select a document to add it to a category. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Categories tab enables you to view the items in the List View, or Tree View from the list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. To view the items without category grouping, select List View from the list. To view the items grouped in categories, select Tree View from the list. Note: The system retains the user's last category view preference. Select Category Expansion Options in Tree View

On the Categories tab Tree View, you can expand the categories to display the additional subcategories and patient chart items. You can collapse the categories to display only the categories. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. To expand or collapse all the categories, do the following: Hover over any category, and select Category Options button.The list of category options appear. To display all components of every listed categories, select Expand All Categories. To display the categories without any components, select Collapse All Categories. To expand or collapse a specific category, do the following: To expand the specific category, and view its components, select the icon corresponding to that category. View HIE Document Contents

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, you can view the content of Health Information Exchange (HIE) documents on the Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. Select HIE Documents or HIE Documents (Sent) category. To expand the category, do one of the following: To expand all categories, select Category Options , and select Expand All Categories. To expand the selected category, select .
