List View of the Categories

The List View of the Categories tab displays a list of documents, files, or images without category grouping for the selected patient. The list of documents, files, or images is displayed with the document Type icon, Name, and Date. When you hover over a document, file, or image, the button and tooltip appear displaying the document name and corresponding categories associated with that document. When you select the button on a document, file, or image, a list of menu options appear as per the document type. When you select a patient who doesn’t have any documents or images, a message appears stating that no records are found for the patient. Sort the Documents and Images in the List View You can sort the documents, files, and images in the List View. Tree View of the Categories

The Tree view of the Categories tab displays the documents in different categories along with the number of documents that exist in that category for the selected patient. If you expand the categories, the categories appear in a tree view displaying the category name, the icon for the document type, the name of the template, document, or image assigned to that category followed by the date, and time. Each document must be associated with at least one category. One document may be associated with one or multiple categories. Select Category Expansion Options in Tree View

On the Categories tab Tree View, you can expand the categories to display the additional subcategories and patient chart items. You can collapse the categories to display only the categories. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. Select Tree View from the list. To expand or collapse all the categories, do the following: Hover over any category, and select Category Options button.The list of category options appear. To display all components of every listed categories, select Expand All Categories. To display the categories without any components, select Collapse All Categories. To expand or collapse a specific category, do the following: To expand the specific category, and view its components, select the icon corresponding to that category. In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Categories tab enables you to view the items in the List View, or Tree View from the list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. To view the items without category grouping, select List View from the list. To view the items grouped in categories, select Tree View from the list. Note: The system retains the user's last category view preference.
