Tree View of the Categories

The Tree view of the Categories tab displays the documents in different categories along with the number of documents that exist in that category for the selected patient. If you expand the categories, the categories appear in a tree view displaying the category name, the icon for the document type, the name of the template, document, or image assigned to that category followed by the date, and time. Each document must be associated with at least one category. One document may be associated with one or multiple categories. When you hover over any category button, the Category Options tooltip appears. When you select the Category Options button on a category, a list of menu options appear to expand and collapse all the listed categories. When you hover over any category item button, the Document Options tooltip appears. Sort the Documents and Images in the List View

You can sort the documents, files, or images based on your preferences. The documents are sorted by Type by default. To sort the display, do one of the following: To sort with the document type, on the Type column header, select the icon. To sort with the document name, on the Name column header, select the icon. To sort with the document date, on the Date column header, select the icon. The list of documents are sorted in reverse chronological order by date. Parent topic: List View of the Categories

Select the Category View

In NextGen® Enterprise EHR, the Categories tab enables you to view the items in the List View, or Tree View from the list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Categories tab. To view the items without category grouping, select List View from the list. To view the items grouped in categories, select Tree View from the list. Note: The system retains the user's last category view preference. Category Filters

You can find, view, and manage documents and images by using category filters on the Categories tab. You can select or set the predefined filters using any of the following criteria: Time Frame, SINCE, DATE RANGE, and Other sections. In the Categories tab, the default filter in the Filter By settings window is set to All. You can change the default filters to view documents and images based on your requirement. You can switch between the patients along with the applied filters. Note: Only categories with existing documents and images appear when a filter is applied for the selected patient. Filter the Document and Images List

You can filter the document list on the Patient Chart window, the Select Documents window, and the Share All Documents window. You can view the documents either in a chronological list or grouped by category. You can also filter the list to include or exclude NextGen® Mobile dictation or NextGen® Enterprise EHR items. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart window. Select Docs & Images. Select Filter. The filter menu appears. Filter Menu To view the documents in chronological order, select List. To view the documents grouped by categories, select Category. The categories are listed alphabetically depending on the categories defined in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. To view NextGen® Mobile dictations in the list, turn on NextGen Mobile Dictations. Only the dictations that have completed editing appear in the list. View Documents and Images

The Docs & Images tab on the Patient Chart view displays a chronological list of documents, images, SAP® Crystal Reports® from NextGen® Enterprise EHR and previous dictations from the patient's chart. Each entry shows the title, description (if any), and the date the entry is added. Open NextGen® Mobile. Open the Patient Chart view. Select Docs & Images. The Docs & Images section opens. Docs & Images View To search for a document or image, enter a search string in Search. To open a file, select the file. You can view your documents and images in landscape mode by rotating your device horizontally. Note: You must turn off Portrait Orientation Lock in your device. The selected file opens for your review. Document View You can view additional pages by swiping up or down and zoom the pages. Note: For NextGen® Enterprise clinic users, the word Sensitive appears in the cell for documents linked to sensitive encounters.
