Selecting and Sorting Report Columns

When you open the Report Filter, the patient demographic columns display in the right pane. These are the default columns that you can select or clear prior to generating a report. You can further filter the patient demographic data by selecting specific parameters. Displaying Alternate Patient Shading for Report Data

The Alternate Shading option enables you to display alternate shading for patients listed on a report. This enables you to more quickly identify rows of data for a specific patient. You can select this option from the Report Filter before you generate any NextGen® Enterprise EHR report. From the Report Filter, select Options. The Report Options window opens. Report Options Select the format of display for the Negative Numbers. Select whether to display all pertinent amounts Without Cents and/or Except Zero Amounts. Select the Print Options for the report. Select OK. Parent topic: Select Report Options

Create a Report Header and Footer

You may choose to create a specific Header and/or Footer for your report. Note: By default, each NextGen® Enterprise EHR Report has a Header that displays Practice Title and Date Prepared (formatted as 1/1/xx), as well as a Footer that displays Page Number (formatted Page 1). From the Report Filter, select Head/Foot. The Customize Report Header/Footer window opens. Customize Report Header/Footer Select the options you wish to be displayed in the Header of your report: Main Title - Enter the desired Main Title Report Title - Enter the desired Report Title Sub Title - Enter the desired Sub Title Date Prepared - Select the format of the Date Prepared displayed Page Number - Select the format of the Page Number displayed Practice Title - Select whether to use practice's name Practice Logo - Select whether to use your practice's logo Print Header on All Pages For each selected option, choose whether it is displayed on the Left, Center or Right side of the Report. Select Patient Chart Data for a Report

Select Patient Chart from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Setup filters for Homeless Status, Language Barrier, Sliding Fee Schedule, School Based Health Center, Community Code, Veteran Status, Poverty Category and any other UDS and/or Client Defined field. If necessary, select to display the pertinent Search window. Setup any desired filters (Equals, Not Equal, Greater Than, Less Than, Like, Between) for Family Size, Family Income, Poverty Percentage. From the Report Filter Settings List, select Columns and select the appropriate columns. If necessary, select Sorting or other report display options from the Report Filter. To view the report data in alternate shading, select Alternate Shading. Note: The alternate shading pattern does not display when you print the report. Select Save. Select Reports Totals

Reports can include column totals in the form of sums, averages, or counts. For example, you could select Reports Totals to count the number of prescribed medicines for pediatric patients who are taking a specific medication type under the age of 18. Note: You should select Totals as the last step before you save and generate the report. Select Totals from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Set the totals you want to use for the appropriate columns. To view the report data in alternate shading, select Alternate Shading. Note: The alternate shading pattern does not display when you print the report. Select Save. Note: Saving the report before generating is optional. To generate the report, select OK.
