Select and Import Documents

You can view the documents identified by a search and select which ones to import.
  1. In the Completed pane, select the Search Date value for an entry.

    A document list pane opens on the right. The title bar of the pane begins with the name of the endpoint that was queried.

  2. To hide previously imported documents, select Only Display New Documents and Documents Ready To Be Imported. For health information exchange (HIE) endpoints, this option filters out documents that were imported previously. For Carequality, this option also filters out documents that are downloading in the background and are not yet ready for import.
  3. To view child documents nested under parent documents, select Document Relationship View.
  4. To view any single document, select the entry in the Title column.

    The document opens in CDA Viewer. For information about the actions you can perform on the document, visit NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the CDA Viewer User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise and the Clinical Reconciliation Module User Guide forNextGen®Enterprise EHR.

    When you are finished using the document, select Close.

  5. Use the check boxes to select documents for import.

  6. Select Import.
    • If the Enable Automatic Validation option is enabled in the Data Share module settings and validation errors are detected, then a CDA validation warning appears. Specify whether the import should continue by clicking Yes or No. After the import, you can view the validation report in the associated patient's chart category in NextGen® Enterprise EHR.
    • If a message states that a document was skipped because of patient consent, you cannot import that document. For more information on consent configuration, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community, and download the Patient Demographics Guide forNextGen®Enterprise.
    • If a message indicates that a document failed to import, check the Data Share module log file for information about the problem.
    • If the Auto launch reconciliation module option is enabled in the Data Share module settings, the Clinical Reconciliation module opens.   7. Select Close.
