Select Encounters to Search

You can select a specific encounter date or an encounter date range to include in the search. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Encounter History or Categories tab. Select .The Search Documents window opens. Select the Hide/Show Filters icon.The Look in: filters section opens within the Search Documents window. To select an encounter range, do one of the following: Select a predefined time period from the encounter date list. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. Select the Encounter History or Categories tab. Select .The Search Documents window opens. To select multiple adjacent documents at a time, select and hold the <SHIFT> key while selecting each document. Patient Documents Text Search

You can quickly search for specific clinical information in a patient chart documents, files, or images that are generated in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. You can search documents across practices if you have Enterprise Chart enabled. For EHR generated documents, you can search within a document to find an associated file, and for other document types search with the document name and image name. The search is limited to documents generated with the TX Text control in the following formats: .doc .docx .rtf You can also search documents that are stored as Blobs. The search excludes the following types of documents: Documents generated with the HighEdit control Renamed documents Restricted documents or documents that are not visible in the patient's history Search Patient Documents You can search for all available documents in the Search Documents window. View Document Information

You can view document and encounter information, file properties, and user permissions for a selected patient document on the Encounter History or Categories tab. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR, and select a patient from the Patient Lookup window. To view the properties of a document, do one of the following: Select the Encounter History tab, Select a patient encounter, that contains the document, and select the button to open the Encounter Details window. Filter Encounters on the Patient Chart

You can narrow the list of encounters on the Financial tab under the Patient Chart to display only those that meet specific filter criteria. Open NextGen® Enterprise PM. On the main toolbar, select Chart or Chart Lookup . The Patient Lookup window opens. In the Search Criteria section, enter the patient's information, and then select Find. Patient records that match the search criteria appear in the Matching Records section. Select the patient, and then select Open. The Patient Chart window opens. Select the Financial tab. All encounters for the patient are listed in the Financial Information section. To view encounters based on specific criteria, select Filter. The Filter Options window opens.
