Before you begin
You must open a case for a
NextGen® Enterprise upgrade. NextGen Product Maintenance completes the upgrade in a test environment that is a recent copy of your
Production.
This is the main process to migrate the NextGen Healthcare's hosted clients to the latest Surescripts Messaging standards. To get more details on resolving the individual issues with provider enrollment, see Resolve Issues.
- Allow the NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist to run the ePrescribing Provider Migration utility on your behalf against your Non-Production database.
Note: The NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist informs you if all providers are verified. If all providers are not verified, the NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist invites you to a Webex meeting to run the utility on your behalf and allows you to export the results to your chosen file location.
- Resolve identified issues in your Production environment.
Note: No changes are submitted to Surescripts until your Production upgrade is completed.
- Prior to your Production upgrade, your providers must respond to all RxChange and Refill requests in your Production environment. After the Production upgrade, providers cannot respond to these requests.
- During your pre-production upgrade call with Product Maintenance, allow your NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist to run the ePrescribing Provider Migration utility on your behalf:
- If you allow your NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist to run the utility on your behalf, they run the utility, following your Production upgrade, and submit changes to Superscripts only if all providers are verified.
- If you do not allow your NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist to run the utility on your behalf following your Production upgrade, or if the utility find issues, you must open a case in NextGen Healthcare Success Community to work with Client Support to run the utility and to help you submit changes to Surescripts.
- Complete your Production upgrade.
- Allow the NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist to re-run the ePrescribing Provider Migration utility on your behalf:
- If you have given permission, your NextGen Product Maintenance Deployment Specialist runs the utility and submit changes to Surescripts, assuming no issues are found.
- If you have not given permission, you need to connect with Client Support by the previously-opened case in NextGen Healthcare Success Community, to help you run the utility.
- Resolve all issues that are found when the utility is run against your Production environment, before you can submit changes to Surescripts.
- Contact Client Support to help you run the ePrescribing Provider Migration utility and submit changes to Surescripts.
- Select the Send button to submit the changes to Surescripts.
After the changes are accepted by Surescripts, the providers names are removed from the list.
