Open a Patient's Chart from the Task List

You can open a patient's chart or open the attachment associated with a task from the task list. Note: When a patient's chart is attached to an email and sent using the NextGen® Enterprise EHR email function, the data in the patient's chart is not encrypted. It may not be encrypted unless the email is sent through an external email system that uses encryption. Before using the NextGen® Enterprise EHR email function to send patient information, ensure that your system and processes comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Select the task in the task list. Below the details section, select Chart on the toolbar to open the desired encounter within the patient's chart. Note: If the selected task contains attachments (such as a document, template, or image), NextGen® Enterprise EHR opens the patient's chart and prompts you with the attachment. If an attachment contains a NextGen® Document Management image, the attachment automatically opens in Nex

Email Tasks

You can perform the tasks like compose, reply or forward, open, and remove an email. To check your incoming email, select the Email , and then select Refresh. To send a new email message, select Compose in the toolbar of the Email panel. A new Message email window opens in Microsoft Outlook®. To open an email message, select Open. The email opens in Microsoft Outlook. You can reply, forward, print, and highlight the message as required. To delete an email message, select the message to delete, and then select Remove. Note: The email message is also deleted from Microsoft Outlook®. To add emails to the Task List or directly to a patient's chart, select the email message, and then select either + To Do or + To Chart. If a patient's information is attached to an email, you can access the patient's chart or orders from your email. You can send NextGen® Enterprise EHR task to the specific recipients. You can create NextGen® Enterprise EHR task and send it to the specific recipients. Note: In System Administrator, if Access Rights for Chart/Recalls/Tasking is set to No, then you cannot access Task on the NextGen Care® Population Management Hub toolbar. For more information about setting access permissions to Task in NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, go to NextGen Healthcare Success Community , and download the latest System Administrator Guide for NextGen® Enterprise. In NextGen Care® Population Management Hub, do one of the following: From the Cohorts tab, run a report. From the My Lists tab, run a list. From the Appointment Book tab, filter the patients. Available Actions for Enterprise Chart Patient Data

You can see clinical data from other practices for the selected Enterprise Chart patient in read-only mode. You cannot add or modify the displayed information.
