Managing Incomplete Orders

When you select an order item, Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) displays the order details for your review and also saves the order in the Incomplete Items list. If you close the CPOE window, you can select Incomplete Items to re-open CPOE and resume your saved order.

CPOE prefixes the total number of selected items to Incomplete Items and displays the following color representation.
  • indicates that there are no incomplete items for the current encounter.
  • indicates that the current encounter has incomplete items.

To view a quick summary of the incomplete orders in the encounter, you can hover over Incomplete Items.
