Display a Region or Finding Level Diagnosis Codes

The findings grid displays the region or finding level diagnosis codes when you annotate a region in NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Only one diagnosis code is automatically selected for a single finding. Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient. Select an existing encounter or create an encounter. Open the template that contains the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component. The GET component window opens. Select the Options and Settings Popup Menu icon and then select Show Findings Grid. The findings grid pane appears. In the FINDINGS menu pane, select the finding, and annotate a region. When a region is selected, the Dx Code column is updated in the Findings Grid. Note: The GET validates the appropriate ICD-9 or ICD-10 code, based on encounter date. If there is a default diagnosis code assigned for the finding level, it is overwritten by the region mapped diagnosis code and the diagnosis code is automatically updated to the new regions code. Annotate an Image

Open NextGen® Enterprise EHR. Select a patient. Select an existing encounter from the Encounter History or create an encounter. Open the template that contains the Graphical Exam Tool (GET) component. The GET component window opens. The findings and exam tools are displayed for the selected location and provider in GET component. Note: The GET template can be opened in NextGen® Enterprise EHR without selecting the Reason for Visit. From the REASON FOR VISIT pane, select the reason for visit that you want to attach the finding. To change profile settings, select Settings from the Options and Settings Popup Menu . The Graphical Exam Tool - Settings window opens. Note: To edit profile settings, you must have the Operations Right for Administration > Edit EHR Component Profiles enabled in the System Administrator. Select the tab that contains the image you want to annotate first. The tab for the first image appears by default. Adjust the view or manipulate the image using the image toolbar

The Location, Region, and Name for the annotation area are set by Graphical Exam Tool (GET) and cannot be changed. You can enter attribute values in two ways, do one of the following: In the Findings Grid, select the attribute cell, and do one of the following, based on the attribute type: Enter the value. To display an input window, select an Ellipsis button (for example, diagnosis search window). To increase or decrease a numeric value, select Up or Down Arrow button. Graphical Exam Tool Annotations

The Graphical Exam Tool (GET) enables you to: Place annotations on images to document the location of findings. The placement of the annotations is converted into text and captured as an attribute of the finding. The attributes are saved to the patient's chart. For example, a dermatologist can place findings for cancer on an image. The attributes related to each finding can include size, color, location, or description. Attach a finding to a chief complaint or reason for visit. You can attach multiple findings to different reasons for visit. Mark a finding for follow-up and create a to-do task for the finding. Attach an image (photo or drawing) to a finding. The image can be from the provider's file system or from the patient's chart for the current encounter.
