New, Different and Conflict Items in Compendium Loads

If you reload or update the compendium, color-coded indicators appears: New New items can have a User Description added and a Confidential setting entered. You can put your own User Description. Conflict A conflict exists between something already in the current compendium and the new download. You can modify the item. Difference A difference exists between data already in the current compendium and in the new download. You can either accept the new value or retain the existing value. You cannot change the data from the load. When reviewing the newly loaded compendium, you cannot move to the next step until everything on the current window has been completed. Saving Loaded Compendiums

When the data load of the compendium is complete, the toolbar at the bottom of the window provides three options: Go Home, Save Modified or Save. The Go Home button exits a compendium load that has not been completed. If you select Go Home, a warning message appears and asks if you want to stop the update. If you select Yes, the file update is not completed, and you return to the Home window The Save Modified button saves only the modified items and displays a window showing the status of the saved items. Settings for First Time Use of the Orders Management Console

To use the Orders Management Console, you start by selecting your desktop button, or select Orders Management Console from the NextGen application launcher. You are asked for a user log on. You should also choose your Enterprise and Practice. When you use the Orders Management Console the configuration options need to be set up (select Settings on the bottom left on the screen). When you use the Orders Management Console for the first time, if the required settings are incomplete, a warning is displayed. Note: : This warning is displayed every time the Orders Management Console is started with undefined or incomplete settings. When you select OK, you are automatically presented with the configuration Orders Management Console window where you enter the Settings to run the Compendium Management program. Importing Compendiums or Updates with the Orders Management Console

After you have configured the initial settings for the Orders Management Console, you can load or update a test order compendium. You must import compendiums to make them available to the Orders module; the NextGen database does not contain any compendiums initially. When running the Orders Management Console, the sequence in which you process the vendors is enforced by the program. You get an error message if you try to load a vendor list before NextGen or LOINC. You can load the compendiums in the following order: NextGen LOINC Vendors (for example, Labcorp, Veredigm labs) If you have updated the NextGen compendium file, and there are no changes to the LOINC code, you update the vendor compendium. The initial load and any updates come from the Web Server URL defined in your settings. Note: The NextGen® Quality Measure Data Tool provides another way to load and update lab and radiology test compendiums into the NextGen® database. Orders Management Console Toolbar Options for NextGen Test Compendium Updates

Buttons Function You can choose to display only the new Lab tests, only the new Radiology tests, or All new order tests in the update list. You can choose to filter the new items by: New Information only Deleted Information only Conflict information only Different information only If selected, the differences are highlighted in the compendium list and the blue arrows are activated to move through the differences. If not selected, the differences are shown as plain text. Moves through the conflicts one at a time, or moves to the first or last conflict. Moves through the differences one at a time, or moves to the first or last difference. Select this button to get information on how to edit compendium data. Save modified compendium records. Orders Management Console

The Orders Management Console is used for loading lab and radiology test compendiums into NextGen® Enterprise EHR. It is accessed through the application launcher. The Orders Management Console can also be used to update test compendiums that are loaded into your NextGen® Enterprise EHR database. The importing and updating of vendor specific compendiums is based on NextGen® Enterprise EHR's support of the compendium for that specific vendor, for example Labcorp. The current version of NextGen® Enterprise EHR can only be used to add and update the NextGen, LOINC, Quest compendiums, and Labcorp compendiums.
