Overview of the Main Window

The NextGen® Enterprise EHR main window components include the Title Bar, Main Menu, Top Toolbar, Patient Information Card, Quick Buttons panel, Encounter History/Categories view panel, and calendars. You can configure the practice preferences settings in File Maintenance to display the Multiple Document Interface (MDI) tabs and customize the system date format. Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts can be used in NextGen® Enterprise PM to perform common actions. Keyboard Shortcut Action Alt+F4 Closes NextGen® Enterprise PM. Ctrl+F4 Closes the active window in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Alt+Underlined Letter Selects an option. Example: Alt+N selects Next Alt+Down Arrow Opens a menu of picklist items. Up/Down Arrows Highlights a picklist item. Ctrl+Shift+End Highlights all picklist items. Space Bar Selects or clears a highlighted picklist item. Shift+End+Space Bar Selects all pickist items. Alt+Tab Toggles between open applications. Ctrl+Tab Toggles between open windows in NextGen® Enterprise PM. Tab Moves to the next field. Shift+Tab Moves to the previous field. Keys Function Alt+L Looks up for a patient during the filing process from the File window. Alt+F Files a document from the File window. Copy User Preferences

The Copy User Preferences function enables you to copy specific user preferences, tasks, appointments preferences, and PAQ options from one user to another user or to another user group within the same practice. Access NextGen® Enterprise EHR. From the Admin menu, select Copy User Preferences. The Copy User Preferences window opens. From the Copy From section, select the User to copy preferences from and the specific Preference to copy. The Edit menu enables you to find, select, and edit patient images, documents, and templates. Some Edit menu options are visible only when specific modules are active. Viewing the Desktop Layout

NextGen® Enterprise PM opens to the main desktop window, when you log on using your credentials. You can access various areas and functions of NextGen® Enterprise PM from the main desktop window.
