PAQ Items Linked to Lab or Radiology Orders

The PAQ contain documents and images that are linked to lab or radiology orders as results. These items are linked from the Document Management module or the Orders module. You can also link Document Management images to orders from the PAQ. PAQ signoff comments for the linked documents and images are copied to the Orders module. Manage Copying Signoff Comments to Linked Orders

The Copy Signoff Comments section contains two preferences that are enabled by default to copy signoff comments to linked lab orders and to linked radiology/diagnostic orders. You can disable either or both of these preferences. You can enable the preferences again after you disable them. From the Provider Approval Queue menu, select Preferences. The PAQ Preferences window opens, with the General tab in view. To clear the preferences, clear To linked Lab Orders or To linked Rad/Diag Orders check box. Select OK. Adding and Tracking Orders Comments

The Orders Comments Tracking option enables you to add comments for any order type throughout the order lifecycle. For example, you can enter comments about whether a patient attended a scheduled appointment, if one test in a group of tests needs to be rescheduled, or if certain issues regarding an order have been reviewed with the staff. The system captures who added the comment and the time it was added. This provides a real-time log of order actions from initial creation to final result. You can access and add comments for lab, radiology, and immunizations orders. When adding comments for an order, you can select whether the comments should be used for tracking or sign-off purposes. You can access, view, or add comments when performing any of the following Order processing actions: Creating or updating a lab, radiology, or immunizations order. Before you begin You must use the latest version of SAP® Crystal Reports®. You can view the current signoff details and comments from the previous provider for a pending, rejected, or signed-off PAQ item on the Encounters or Categories tab for a selected patient document, image, SAP® Crystal Reports®, or HTML object. You can add the provider sign-off comments for a signed-off or rejected PAQ item. The added comments are displayed in the Communication Component grid. Sign off Orders in the PAQ

To view and sign off DM images, access PAQ. Select a DM image associated with a patient. To display the Orders Document Link and Unlink section, select the Orders Module button on the PAQ panel. The system displays the order types and tests based on the order preferences selected in File Maintenance (that is, Order Type and Source). If necessary, you can unlink orders. For example, if a different DM image needs to be linked to an order. Note: You can only unlink an image that has been linked to an order processed in the Orders module If necessary, link an image, by selecting Link or Complete (for NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine results). Add any comments, if needed, and perform Sign off for the selected DM Image. The system updates the status of the order or result, as appropriate. For Lab tests processed in the Orders module, the system updates the order status from Ordered to Assigned when the DM image is linked to a test.
