Copying Signoff Comments from PAQ to Linked Orders

Two PAQ general preferences are set by default to copy signoff comments to linked lab orders or to linked radiology orders but can be turned off. If the Copy Signoff Comments preferences are turned on, any PAQ comments you enter for a document or image result that is linked to a lab or radiology order are copied to the Sign-off and Tracking Comments section for the order in the Orders module. You can enter comments for a linked Document Management image or a NextGen® Enterprise EHR image, a NextGen® Adaptive Content Engine document, or a NextGen® Enterprise EHR document. You can add comments in the PAQ before you sign off the pending item in the PAQ or after you sign off using the blue check mark in a document. After you sign off or reject an item, you can add comments from the Provider Sign-off Details window in the Encounters and Categories tabs. PAQ Items Linked to Lab or Radiology Orders

The PAQ contain documents and images that are linked to lab or radiology orders as results. These items are linked from the Document Management module or the Orders module. You can also link Document Management images to orders from the PAQ. PAQ signoff comments for the linked documents and images are copied to the Orders module. Adding and Tracking Orders Comments

The Orders Comments Tracking option enables you to add comments for any order type throughout the order lifecycle. For example, you can enter comments about whether a patient attended a scheduled appointment, if one test in a group of tests needs to be rescheduled, or if certain issues regarding an order have been reviewed with the staff. The system captures who added the comment and the time it was added. This provides a real-time log of order actions from initial creation to final result. You can access and add comments for lab, radiology, and immunizations orders. When adding comments for an order, you can select whether the comments should be used for tracking or sign-off purposes. You can access, view, or add comments when performing any of the following Order processing actions: Creating or updating a lab, radiology, or immunizations order.
