Copy the VIS Documents to the VIS Path
Locate the documents on the server.
Open the VIS sub-folder and the appropriate folder for the documents you want to copy.
From the Main Menu, select
Edit
, then
Select All
.
From the Main Menu, select
Edit
, then
Copy
.
Locate your C:\NextGen directory and navigate to the appropriate report path in the Universal Preference.
Open the VIS folder.
From the Main Menu, select
Edit
then
Paste
.
All of the copied document files are moved to the directory that you specified.

To identify VIS pdf files easily, when creating the file name include the Release Date and Language, for example:
dtap_english_20070517.pdf
.

Create a Folder for the VIS Documents
Open Windows Explorer. Paste the file path into the directory window. The Reports directory displays. Select New Folder. Enter the name of the folder. To save the folder, select Enter. Note: When creating the VIS folder, you can only name the folder as VIS. VIS documents cannot be associated if they are not in the correct folder. Parent topic: Creating the VIS Folder

Identify the Path of the VIS Folder
In System Administrator, select View > Universal Preferences > Reports. Open Report Path. Select the report path and copy it. Paste the file path in Notepad or a similar place for future reference. Close System Administrator. Parent topic: Creating the VIS Folder

Create a folder to store the VIS documents in the Reports folder of the desired database. To locate where the folder is best located, review the Universal Preferences. Setting up the VIS Documents
You must set up the VIS documents to print or view them when ordering and administering a vaccine. Note: The VIS documents (that is, written in the English language) that are shipped with the NextGen® Enterprise EHR Products upgrade package are already attached to the appropriate vaccines. For information on how to attach additional VIS document to a vaccine, see Attach a VIS Document to a Vaccine Item. You can set up the VIS documents as follows: Create the VIS folder within the NextGen Root directory. Note: After the VIS folder has been created in the NextGen directory, you do not need to re-create this folder for any subsequent system updates. Copy the VIS documents to the VIS folder. After setting up the VIS documents, you can download and attach the VIS documents to specific vaccines, if necessary. Note: You can download additional VIS documents from the CDC website, if necessary. For example, you may need to download updated VIS documents to add the Document Type code. Update the

Copy the SAP Crystal Reports to Specified Location
In Windows Explorer, locate the reports folder on the server. Open the Crystal Reports sub-folder and the appropriate folder for the reports you wish to copy, for example, Medications. Select Edit > Select All. Select Edit > Copy. Open the C:\NextGen directory and navigate to the appropriate directory specified in the Universal Preference. Select Edit > Paste. Download Additional VIS Documents
Go to the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/hcp/vis/index.html). From the available list of vaccines, select the vaccine you want to download the VIS document for. The information related to that vaccine displays along with a link of the VIS PDF file. Select the VIS PDF file link to open the file. Save a copy of the PDF file to the VIS folder you created in the Reports directory. Parent topic: Additional VIS Documents
