Conventions

The term CDA is used to refer to both of the following document types, except where otherwise specified:

• Continuity of Care Documents (CCDs), which are based on the C32 specification and are compliant with Meaningful Use Stage 1 (MU1) rules.
• Consolidated-Clinical Document Architecture (C-CDA) documents, which are based on the CDA specification and are compliant with Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2) rules.
