Workflow Module Layout and Features

The Workflow module for NextGen® Enterprise EHR connects you to your tasks, PAQ, appointments, message manager view, email, and NextGen® PxP Portal messages on one multi-functional window. Workflow module layout and features describes to access Workflow module and the module window tabs and sections, toolbar, icons, hot keys, and spell checker. Email Tasks

You can perform the tasks like compose, reply or forward, open, and remove an email. To check your incoming email, select the Email , and then select Refresh. To send a new email message, select Compose in the toolbar of the Email panel. A new Message email window opens in Microsoft Outlook®. To open an email message, select Open. The email opens in Microsoft Outlook. You can reply, forward, print, and highlight the message as required. To delete an email message, select the message to delete, and then select Remove. Note: The email message is also deleted from Microsoft Outlook®. To add emails to the Task List or directly to a patient's chart, select the email message, and then select either + To Do or + To Chart. If a patient's information is attached to an email, you can access the patient's chart or orders from your email. Select an Email Profile

Using the Workflow module, you can access your email profile. Open the workflow module. The Choose Profile window opens. Note: If you close this window on first accessing the Workflow module, it displays any time you select the Email tab. Select an email profile from the Profile Name list, or select New to create a new email profile. Under Options, select the Set as default profile check box for the module. Select OK. The Workflow module displays all available email messages. Note: Creating a new email profile requires additional setup in Microsoft Outlook®. Workflow Module

The Workflow module provides the functionality for: Clinical tasking Set up clinical tasking preferences. View, accept, decline, reject, complete, create, update, reply to, assign or reassign, remove or restore tasks. Respond to refill requests that ePrescribing (eRX) generates. Accept and manage electronic prior authorizations (ePAs). Set up workflow delegates and out-of-the-office status. Provider Approval Queue (PAQ) Set up PAQ preferences and custom rules. Accept, sign off, reject, reassign, or task PAQ items. Send documents to NextGen® PxP Portal. Link NextGen® Document Management images to an open order. Add a patient to a recall list. Appointments Set up appointment viewing preferences. View patient appointments for multiple providers and resources that were scheduled through NextGen® Enterprise PM. Storage Locations for Images

NextGen® Enterprise EHR offers the ability to store patient chart items (such as documents, images, notes) in separate directories that are automatically separated by date. Note: If you enable multiple storage locations for patient chart items, it automatically overrides the directory setting specified in the Universal Preferences for that item type. Managing Patient Cases in NextGen® Enterprise EHR

The Case Management functionality enables users of both NextGen® Enterprise EHR and NextGen® Enterprise PM applications to group patient encounters based upon common data into cases. Cases may include workers' compensation, occupational health (non-injury), ambulatory care, group health PT as well as other encounter details. This enables users to submit only the medical-record data of each patient that is required to meet insurance and legal obligations.
