Service Date on Radiology Order Documents

If a document is attached to results for a radiology order, the results include a Service Date/Time column, in place of the Collection Date, which is used for lab orders. This Service Date/Time value matches the value in the History section for the date in the Diagnostic Tests section. If there were several tests ordered on this radiology order, the earliest time appears. Orders Summary Grid Columns

The following table lists the columns that may appear on the Orders Summary grid for Lab and Radiology orders based on the pre-defined or user-defined filter you select. Column Description Image Type Opens an icon indicating the order type. This column appears by default for all filters. Comments Contains a link to the associated comments in the Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. Documents Contains a link to an associated document or image or URL in the Results panel for the specific order. Recurrence Opens an icon indicating a future or recurring order. You can select the icon to open the View Order Schedule window where you can view order schedule. Ordered Elsewhere Opens an icon indicating the order was created outside the NextGen® Enterprise system. Order # The number assigned to an order when you create and save a new order. Select a Laboratory or Radiology Order Filter

Select Orders from the Report Filter Settings List. Report Filter Select Laboratory, Radiology, Immunization from the Select Order Type list. Select if the order was Ordered Elsewhere (Y, N, or None). Select the performing entity from the Select Performing Entity list. If necessary, select to display the Laboratory Search window. Laboratory Search Enter the name of the lab as a search criterion. For example, Quest. Select Search. Select the desired laboratories. Select OK. The Laboratory name displays in the Select Performing Entity field. Select the test from the Select Test list. If necessary, select to display the Test Search window. Test Search Do one of the following: Select the NextGen Test Definition option - to display the laboratory and radiology test descriptions as provided by NextGen Healthcare. Order Test Favorites

The Orders module allows you to create both lab and radiology test order favorites in File Maintenance. Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Test Favorites. Select New. The Add Order Test Favorites or Modify Order Test Favorites window opens. Select the test entity System or select the NextGen Compendium Favorite. Select whether the Order Type is lab or radiology. Give the Test Favorites group a name by entering text in the Description field. Select the Folder icon. Use the Available orders test list to select which tests need to be added to this lab test favorites set. After the test is selected, select the arrow to move them into the Included list for this test favorites group. After all tests in your favorites group have been selected, select OK to close the selection window. Select OK to save the new Test Favorites group. Note: If you try and create a test favorites group with the same name as an existing group, it issues a message and does not allow you to save

Using the Orders Summary Tab

The Orders Summary tab provides order information in the following panels: Orders panel. View, update, and track existing orders and create orders for the current patient. Results panel. View test results from an interface or manually enter test results and related documents for the current patient. This panel is collapsed when you open the Orders Summary tab, but you can expand it to view its contents. Sign-off and Tracking Comments panel. View and add order tracking or sign-off comments. Create Radiology Test Favorites

You can define a group of favorites for Radiology tests. You select the testing entity System, set the Order Type to Radiology and give the Test Favorites group a description. To create a radiology test favorites group: Select File Maintenance > Master Files > System > Order Test Favorites. Select New. The Add Order Test Favorites or Modify Order Test Favorites window opens. Select the test entity System or select the NextGen Compendium Favorite check box. Select the Order Type as radiology. Give the Test Favorites group a name by entering text in the Description field. After Test Favorites group is named, select the folder button and use the test list to select tests for this radiology favorites group. Select OK to save the radiology favorites group as you did when creating a lab test favorites group.
